The Huns just haven't been the same since they sold their Mother House to Dawson

I think because Perezhogin has been (with the exception of bulging the twine) very effective and an integral part of a very successful third line. They seem to have great balance and I see no reason to break a working unit apart to try and fix another. Really the only two options imo were to either leave the line alone for a little longer or move Lats up for a try.

I think the bigger problem may be if the second line actually clicks tonight and produces. Then what? Where do you put Samsanov now? Because clearly, he is too valuable/costly of an asset to be on the fourth line.

Will the bashing ever stop? Will I be forced to drown the pain with yet another bottle of Tokay.

I first thought it wouldn't show, but eh, pooper... yeah, it's funny!!

And the Huns are the reason why we haven't won the cup since '93.

Putting Latendresse on the 2nd line i'm happy about it, but Samsonov on the 4th? what they should of done is put Sammy with Bonk and Perezhogin, 2 players who shoot the puck more then Kovy or Plecks, the put Johnson on the 4th to wake up both Bégin and Murray, since Johnson scores goal using his hearth more then his talent, Samsonov and Perezhogin would make the 3rd really fast too

The real reason:

If they switched their would be no more PBJ Line (It's all about the Peanut Butter and Jam).

The fourth line would be more dangerous if Murray could score. Is Lapierre a better goalscorer than murray? Wouldnt it be great if Sammy Begin and Murray had a big night?

Deep down inside, don't we have way too many wingers and too few centers? If so, why did we sign a winger and trade a center? Shouln't it have been the other way around? If that wasn't possible in the past, shoun't it be the object of our future team building endeavours? Deep down inside?
Which center should the Habs have acquired? Savard for $5M? For all we know Gainey may have tried. Also, there was a need to find an experienced left wing for the second line after the departure of Bulis and Zednik. Perezhogin and A. Kostitsyn were question marks based on their records last season.

You know, Even if samsonov plays on the fourth line, you can still find plenty of minuts minuts. In todays nhl there are so many power plays that you just cant rely on two pp units all season wich is why I dont get why some people make such a big deal out of this. The fourth line needs a playmaker to set up begin and murray because were going to need that line to produce on accasion. Samsonov is a guy who loves to play on the outside. He loves to skate with the puck, I put him on the point with souray this way we separate souray and markov and have two pp studs at the point.

PP 1
Higgins-Koivu-Ryder

Samsonov - Souray

pp2 Latendresse - Kovalev - Johnson /perezhogin/plekanec

Markov - Streit

Every one happy this way

Back on the subject of Latendresse on the 2nd line.

Latandresse will plant himself in front of the net as soon as he can. Thats his game. If so his skating will be less of a factor. He will find it tuffer in the NHL but thats his game. Kovy will not have to look too hard for him. Kovalev will control the play as usual but the option for the long cross ice pass to Samsonov WONT BE THERE so Kovy will have to come off the boards and take the shot more often with Tender ready for a tip or rebound.
Kovalev will get stopped sometimes so don't go crazy if he gives up the puck a few times, but when Kovalev does get his shot off it will be more dangerous and rebounds will happen.

The line WILL look different with Tender, we should wait till the games is over before we judge anything, the line might look bad for the first period or so but wait for the final result.

What does age and experience have to do with sticking his big arse in from of the net and blocking the goalies view? He should be doing that every shift, hell it is something I learned in like novice.
