Canadiens Logo

I was watching Maurice Richard (The Rocket) and i kept looking at the logo they had in the movie and i gotta say, i love that one more than the current one we have.

The Red C with the white C inside and then the H, thats just killer. No need for the white to go all the way around like a border/outline. Maybe a blue one but no white like it is now. That would be just a killer logo, vintage style.

What do you all think? (if you've seen the movie, i've watched it 10x now).

Well I for one haven't seen the movie, so I couldn't give you my opinion.

I was wondering however what the CH stands for exactly. I've heard it explained many different ways, whether it be Candiens Hockey, Club de Hockey, Candiens Habs etc. but I've never had a definite answer.
Does anyone know exactly what the CH stands for?

well, I guess it's more CHC for Club de Hockey Canadien.. CH alone doesn't make a lot of sense...

"Le Club De Hockey Canadien"

The wiki on Habs history is pretty decent. Some of the past logos are shown.

Exactly, which is why i'd rather see the old logo, it makes more sense, well to me anyway. The current one is just a commercial version of the true Canadiens logo.

Our current logo is fine. Every team needs their look refreshed once in a while, and having changed from our previous logo to the one we have right now seems appropriate. It is simply a sign of the times, even though we have an historic team. Even the traditional teams in European soccer have modernized their crests, but have retained pretty much the same elements that made them so recognizable in the first place. Tottenham did a wonderful job in updating their crest this past year, and Arsenal redid their's in the last five years. Juventus's old crest was also desperate of a rehaul, and a nice one was done 2 years ago, while still maintaining the integrity and history of the original.

Man, don't compare pansy soccer to hockey...EVER. With how things are going, vintage is something people are starting to like. It's the identity of the habs, the blue outline is what i suggested to bring it to this era with the old logo instead of the white outline which i don't think is needed when the logo is supposed to be "CHC"

just wondering if you guys know that if you purchase a 24 case of budlight (not my beer at all trust me), that you can get vintage hockey ball caps. I saw the golden seals, rockies, nords, but my question is they have one with a large M and i am wondering if it is the maroons. can someone shed some light on this for me please.

GO HABS GO

I much prefer the current logo. There's a lot of stuff (mostly clothes, hats) that I would buy, but they have the old logo, so I won't buy it. I really don't like it.

This hat for example. I'd buy it in a second if it had the current logo.

I'll do the logo in photoshop, we'll see how ugly it looks then.

here's an interesting quote from wikipedia

The Stars were chosen as the final Forum opponent because their captain, Guy Carbonneau, and their general manager, Bob Gainey, were both former Canadien captains

Yeah, nothing wrong with touching up vintage to make it look a lil better for this era. I like the one i just submitted in the post above machabs93 post. I also think the white vintage should be the away jersey for good.

Then again i also never want to see the new jersey styles ever implemented.
