White, Maxwell, Price to Team WHL

Ryan White, Ben Maxwell and Carey Price were all named to Team WHL for the Remax games next month, joining Mathieu Carle who will play for Team QMJHL. No guys on the OHL team, no word on Russia's team, so we'll have to see if Valentenko is on the team again, would be good to see him again but playing on the 3rd pairing in the RSL every game, I would be surprised if his team released him for the tournament.

Congrats to White, Maxwell for making the team, 2nd time for Price.

No Sergei?

Where is Sergei Kostitsyn? Shouldn't he be there from the OHL?

No I don't think so. If this is a IIHF event then no he can not play for Russia, he can only play for Belarus. I don't think it's really an IIHF event in the past, but I still don't think they would use a Belarusian for Team Russia, this tournament is a warmup for the WJC's, and it gives Russia the chance to give a look to a couple long shot guys that might impress enough to get an invite for the U-20 team in december.

Remember, he's from Belarus. I don't believe he's eligible to play on the Russian junior teams.

Kostitsyn isn't having the most inspired season thus far, anyway. If he is, in fact, only eligible for team OHL, there's good reason for him not being selected.

No argument there. Irving has been amazing for Everett

And we all know how Price is doing

Another point or two and he'd be in the top 20 in the league in scoring. I don't see how that's not good, he's on pace to put up better numbers then last year on a younger team. I haven't seen any games yet this year but London was my favorite CHL team to watch on the web, so I got to see him a good bit. Only going off stats I don't see the problem. I've heard he's playing more physical as well but I'll have to wait till I see it.

Only Canadians can play for the Q, OHL and WHL teams during the Canada/Russia challenge.

Well if you look closer, he may be close to the top 20 (though he's currently 30-something'th) he's 5th on his team in scoring, and not by a small margin. I saw the Longon-Kitchener game this week, and he played well, but he wasn't one of the best players on his team, let alone in the game.

Yea he's in the top 30 but that's cause it's early in the season and 1 point seperates groups of 5-6 guys per point up to the top 10, meaing a 4 point game and he's tied for 10th. London is a high scoring team that seems to rack up the goals especially on the PP, what's wrong with others having more points on a skilled offensive team? The season is long and junior stats are imo meanlingless to a degree. We'll see what he does next year in Hamilton, hope the Dogs make the playoffs, would be great to see him and Price join the team when their seasons are over.
