Vasicek to the IR - Implications....Are there any?

http://boards.nashvillepredators.com...blog&blogid=1&

Vasicek has been placed on the IR retroactive to the 16th. I believe the minimum IR stint is 15 days, although I usually confuse this with the MLB rules. This would mean he should be out for a minimum of about another week. Further, Sullivan and Hordy will miss tonights game.

Does this mean we will see Radulov for at least 2 more games, or does it simply mean Vernon Fiddler will be our third line center for awhile?

EDIT: IR is 7 days in the NHL, so as pointed out earlier, Vasicek could theoretically come off tomorrow...

a) it means we've got to stop picking up soft Europeans ... yes Vasicek IS a soft European ...
b) Fiddler will probably get more ice time than Radulov again ... boy I just love Trotz, don't you?

Lines from practice as per the blog...

White jerseys: Kariya - Arnott - Erat
Gray jerseys: Hartnell - Legwand - Dumont (the "Palindrome Line": 17-11-71)
Gold jerseys: Upshall - Fiddler - Radulov
Burgundy jerseys: Smithson - Nichol - Tootoo

Will miss Sully and the Big V....but if Trotz would stick with these tonight I could see some good things happening. Fiddler and Nichol have both played well lately.

I'm starting to believe Fiddler has a voodoo doll somewhere, which he has used the past few seasons.

"Trotz told me he wants me to play but we have too much depth...until now...muhaha"

I still think our fourth line needs some tweaking....I just dont feel like the Smithson-Tootoo comb has been all that great...I know, there not supposed to be on the score sheet every night, but at least with a better PK effort Smithsons spot on that line would be more justified...just dont get enough out of those two to be in the lineup every night....

Smithson has been a great penalty killer for us this season so far, but I agree, I'd like to see a little more out of our fourth line. Perhaps Tootoo returning will spark that line up some (if Trotz does move him).

Trotz said today that they'd both make the trip, from what I remember.

Both Sullivan and Vasicek skated today with the team.

IR is a minimum 7 days, per 16.11(a) in the CBA ... but it can be retroactive.

Any news on Vasicek's injury and when he might be back?

According to the Tennessean, Vasicek is healthy (as is Zanon), but neither is coming off right now until the coaching staff is ready to put him back in the lineup or there is another injury.

Do we really honestly need Vasicek with the way the team has performed since he got injured (went on the IR) ... I wouldn't mind shipping him somewhere, anywhere ... we've got our team chemistry set ... Trotz had better not fix this, because the god damm problem isn't broke

I think Vasicek can be just as good as Fiddler is. In fact, he should be better. In all honesty, Fiddler could take Smithson's spot on the fourth line or we could scratch Darcy to keep both Smithson and Fiddler in. Count me as one of the few that thinks Vasicek is a good addition to this lineup .

Well so far this has been a lopsided trade LOL, probably not fair to judge it but Walkers got 8 goals and Vasicek can't beat out Fiddler?
