OT - Brent Aubin, Quebec Ramparts

he was named qmjhl play of the week (4 games, 9 goals, 14 points)

any thoughts on him since some of you may have seen him play this season.

Aubin and I go way back, though he's probably unaware of that, and let me tell you this kid does have a lot of offensive prowess, maybe not to the point of making an NHL line-up, but it was impressive enough to destroy the midget ranks at the age of 15. And if I remember correctly, he was drafted 2nd or 3rd overall in the QMJHL draft. He pretty much falls in the Rob Hisey, Corey Locke range in that his lack of footspeed and other intangibles will prevent him from ever cracking an NHL line-up on a consistent basis.

If Aubin was THAT good. He would have already been drafted. Basically, Aubin was overlookled in THREE previous drafts. Let it be known he's an overager in the QMJHL this year. His peers are either in the NHL, AHl or playing in some other form of semi-pro. That's why his personal stats are inflated. Jyst thought I'd put in my two cents.

Will probably en up playing a few years in the AHL and finish is carreer in the LNAH.
