Imo Lats on the 3rd line balances the bottom 2 lines. We've seen how poor the 4th line has been and adding Pleks to it, should really help.

The young guy definitly needs more icetime to develop well. Now he'll get it without being mered into the pressure of the second line or the unique style of Kovy. The third line is also perfect like this considering the style of the guys, Bonk is not fast, so easy to adapt with. And the Habs will have a trio of guys that are a decent size with Lats, Bonk and Johnson.

But Bonk needs to heal fast. It's evident his back problems were getting to him last game.

Plekanec played wing for awhile last year if im not mistaken. A few games anyway...

I know center is his natural position, but he can play wing.

so yes, it does "make sense"

Anyone can play wing. I just can't figure out why you'd have the best two C on the bottom 6 play on the same line.

The writer says that Bonk regards it as a pleasure to be reunited with Latendresse. This doesn't translate as his being "ecstatic." Let's not put words into the writer's mouth.
but ... a writer doesn't write with his mouth ?!?

Actually LW is his natural position, and he was moved to C to play with Higgins at the during the lockout year for the Bulldogs

Yes, leaving Bégin to play center by default. We've already seen how much (little) offense his line generated. We should call Bégin's line the tic tac toe line (0 0 0).

You mean you don't think Bonk is experiencing "A state of emotion so intense that a person is carried beyond rational thought and self-control"?

I think he is, frankly

I have a hard time believing ecstatic. Bonk would still look depressed if he won the Stanley Cup.

On that note, perhaps Begin should be nicknamed "Cheerio" due to his stat line.

Seems like a strange comment. I wonder if he would be stoked to play with Jim Peak?

4th line.
I want the fastest player I can get for a center, which usually means not big. I want Pleks to continue to intercept passes to catch and create a turn over , swoop in to grab a puck, but he won't win many 1 on 1 against the boards. Think back at the Pleks real game. When he is skating hard he is all over the ice in a flash. That's his game.
Everything about his speed game is his best game, everything about his size game is his worst game.

Let him carry the puck a top speed up the ice, let the other two crash the net. Most times Pleks will be forced to the outside but by then the two others would have reached the front on the net.
