Weber on the PP, 2-0 Preds...the dreaded two-goal lead. Great screen by Hartnell in front.

Please, let us get another goal. I can't take the "2 goal lead heading into the third" again.

wow, lehtonen faked out the entire edmonton oilers team, including those on the bench, with two great fakes before blasting a shot on roloson. the rebound almost banged in by both sullivan and arnott.

We held the puck in the Oil end for the entire last minute of that period. Hopefully we keep it up.

for those of you with center ice, the edmonton feed is showing a brief "prospect profile" on cody franson after the commercial. i've seen them before, and they're like 30 seconds, but it's still cool to see.

The cat is out of the bag. If you want to beat the Oilers, play your back-up goalie!

kinda ironic cuz sharks never able to beat oilers since we don't have back up goalie

some Off Topic nuggets:

* Marian Hossa himself had 16 shots on goal tonight! simply amazing... Atlanta still lost the game to Carolina (Scott Walker scored his 8th of the season).

* Malkin scored a few moments ago -- now he's scored at least 1 goal in each of his first 6 games as an NHL player! Wow!!

* Detroit beat Calgary tonight... I wish Detroit would shrivel a bit, but they are hanging right with us...

Good period for the Preds. We need to come out and score another to shake off the 2 goal lead issues we seem to have...

Ok, I made the quick jog upstairs to give the visual. Think Vern Fiddler buzzing around everywhere, Mason looking like last year's TV and an above average amount of hooking. Preds did a great job of keeping it in the Oil zone for the most part. Our 4th line was cycled to death near the end by their 4th line.

Weber with some additional solid hits and a cannon shot for the goal. Rads had bit of shakey D and no O in what seemed like no ice time.

Great first period, minus taking four penalties - granted we killed off all three PP's against.

Fiddler is all over the place tonight. Scored on a great tip in the opening minutes of the period to give us an early lead, took a bad penalty (again), but then came out of the box and continued moving his feet to generate a few more opportunities for not only himself, but his teammates as well.

Great shot by Weber on the PP to give us a 2-0 lead. Hartnell parked himself right in front and Roloson never saw the shot. Overall the defense are continuing to shoot the puck a lot tonight as they did last night in Vancouver. On the last shift of the period alone Lehtonen faked out three Oilers and got them all to go to the ice and between he and Zids the Preds looked as though they were on the PP. Suter looking comfortable again and fired a good shot on net in the first.

Upshall isn't looking to out of place on the first line. I think he is taking more of an aggressive role than Erat does, but that is only adding a dimension to that line that lacks at times. Poor timing on the penalty, but he stepped right out of the box and fired a shot into the crest of Roloson.

Mason has looked solid thus far. Great save on Lupul on a shorthanded breakaway and a great save on a Sykora one-timer late in the period along with some solid netminding during the three penalty kills. Hopefully Chris will keep it up, he is a great guy and you never hear him complain about playing time behind Vokoun.

Sully is a difference maker again tonight as well. He is forechecking very aggressively and has displayed his stickhandling abilities several times thus far after the first period. This is clearly Sully's team...regardless of who wears the "C".

Timonen looks a little tired to me tonight. He has appeared on several occasions to be skating at 3/4 speed a few times heading back to loose pucks (including the one where he picked up the hooking minor). I would really like to see him step up his game a little in the second and third periods.

P303 asked for it and Legwand got 2nd unit PP time in the first period. Legwand got the primary assist on Weber's goal too after starting the rush by carrying the puck through the neutral zone and throwing the puck across to Kariya to open up space.

4th line again gets hemmed into our end...and it was against EDM's 4th line too! That unit has got to play better hockey in our end of the rink if they want to earn the trust of the coaching staff and play late in games.

20:00 gone, a lot of hockey still to play...let's see a good start from the Preds again coming out of the locker room. Gotta forget we are up 2-0 and play as if it is 0-0 still.

WOW, three open nets in a row, one for dumont, then sullivan, then fiddler...somehow we don't score. I don't think I've seen a better scoring chance not converted in...2 years?

wow, worst ES shift of the game for us, there. fiddler\sullivan\dumont couldn't get out of our end to save their lives. hemsky\sykora\lupul had us totally hemmed.

Long change in the second period really allowed EDM to stretch that long period of control by another half-shift as Dumont and our defensemen couldn't get off.

uf, i don't even know how hemsky got so far behind the defense, but what a shot to score that goal.

The Predators just sat and watched from beyond the blue line.

total momentum shift. oilers come back with a great shift, and an already-tired looking line has to ice the puck and stay out.

Sullivan threads an unreal pass through the slot to a wide open Hamhuis, who was staring at a wide-open net. Somehow, he didn't score that. I had already started celebrating that goal. Legwand walked around two defenders to enter the zone and set it all up.

That's four open nets we've missed. Gotta start converting, starting now on this PP

not what i had in mind. it took us 30 seconds to even get the puck out of our end, and now it's a minute in and we've yet to enter the oilers zone.

Timonen's having some problems holding the blue line at the point tonight, for some reason. I've noticed it both on the "play" and ES.
