I feel bad for Cujo though. They hung him out to dry, he could've had the the 2nd goal, but they forgot to show up. It's just like the Wings to lose games they should win, I blame Lewis and Co. for not preparing them better.

At 4-0, it looks like they'll get a lot of empty seats before the 2nd is over to go with the cascades of boos.

I hope Washington makes it 8-0 so that Illich tears into them like Leonis.

Lang's 28 points now give him the league lead in scoring ... for what that's worth on the league's last-place team.

A.B., your sentiment is understood, one just hopes you don't really wish upon Hasek the graphic hateful scenario you describe. Your better than that.

Zubrus had a sweet spin-o-rama move that he almost scored on before Bondra pounced all over the rebound near the crease. Should be a highlight in next weeks NHL Cool Shots. Caps fans can celebrate that and the fine play of their rookie netminder tonight. Also nice to see Jagr rebounding into much better form.

I was watching that game for a bit and even the Wing announcers were saying that Cujo got little support from his team. I have no sympathy for the Wings but they dont seem to be playing together as a group right now.

Classy.

I'm not a Hasek fan either, but to hope injury upon someone else is kinda low.

poor Cujo. The guy really doesn't deserve this kind of treatment. Who knew that moving to the Wings would be such career suicide?

It's Detroit, if they don't win they boo.

Just another spoiled hockey city much like Colorado.

Yeah it was Mickey Redmond who said Cujo didn't have much help. Which was true. But when you leave juicy rebounds you are at fault too. Regradless the Red Wings are not showing up every night. One night they look like world beaters. The next night it seems like they couldn't beat an AHL team.

But that's why Toronto won't win another SC, the fans will still show up like sheep no matter what, there's no pressure for the owners to turn the team in a champion, just as long as they make the playoffs, people will still fill the seats and the owners will make a tidy profit, as long as they make a profit, that's all they care about. If the fans are booing are leaving in the second period, it means something is wrong and no point in watching the awful ending.

Yeah, I feel sorry for him. The poor guy is only making $8 million a year, too. What a career suicide. I mean the poor guy got pulled? He only let in 3 goals on 9 shots. What else can they expect from him for only $8 million?
Maybe Lewis was trying to inject some life into his players. I have no sympathy for Cujo just because he got pulled. It's part of the game. Give me a break.

please tell me... where the hell did u come up w/ something as crazy as what u said ... wings fans seldom boo their team, or any team for that matter ... it's something called class, as far as being spoiled..... i think the 80's - early 90's speak wonders to that, if you're going to try to put down a city or team, please try to get the right team w/ the right fans... last night was the first night in a LONG LONG time that i heard fans at the joe actually booing and truthfully, i thought the ones that were booing should be taken out and shot... or at least taken out and tossed in the detroit river 'fans' like that should stick to their couches or their barstools, yes last night the wings looked pretty pathetic, but IMO that still don't give a reason to boo the team/players ... it was only a small portion of the crowd that was booing too as far as i heard

Yeah...
that was the first time the Joe has been filled with Booing in a long, long time.
Not since I was a little kid have I heard it like that. (During the Tim Cheveldae era when he'd blow games that we were up 4-0)

But for what it's worth, Detroit deserved to be booed last night for how they played in front of Cujo. They played like they didn't give a damn. I wasn't happy with their lackadaisical performance one bit, and I can imagine that 20000 other fans inside the joe who payed 55 dollars a ticket weren't either.

If they at least gave an effort but still lost, nobody in Detroit would boo. There've been plenty of occasions where they were cheered (Ala 94 quarters, 95 finals just to name a few.)
The only time I can remember wings' fans booing the opposition was when Colorado came to town in 97 and 98 and that was only because the antics of Claude Lemieux in 96.
Hell, if a player on the other team gets hurt Detroit fans go silent rather than cheer about the injury like the fans of some other franchises around the league.

Do not compare wings' fans with Colorado's fair-weather fans. It's a terrible insult to every one of us.

Teams get booed in every city when things aren't going in the fans favour. I've heard it several times this year at the ACC. The Leafs don't have a good powerplay, you hear booing, they lose a game in a bad way, you hear booing. It's not just Detroit or Colorado. There'll always be the small crowd (or larger when deserved) that'll boo when Santa comes to town (cheap shot thrown in).

Oh please, you booed the Wings in Round 1 of the 01-02 playoffs

I'm pretty sure I heard boo'ing as well during the first round against anaheim last year.
