There are two questions I want to pose to those who saw the Ottawa-Buffalo brawl (see link for the full episode).

Would we have responded in a similar fashion to that of Buffalo? And I don't mean just as players. I'm not confident, at all, that Trotz wouldn't just ice the next available line and play on as if nothing had happened. Thoughts?

And would we have responded to an opposing team's goon jumping our goalie? This is where I'm not sure what to think about the Senators. On one hand, it's embarrassing that they wouldn't stand up for Emery who was at a CLEAR disadvantage in that fight for a variety of reasons. On the other hand, who the hell even knows how to respond to a situation like that? It just doesn't come around often.

My personal thoughts were that I loved the fire from Buffalo even though I'm up in the air on the initial hit. It sets a tone and unites a team.

And I would hope that a Hartnell or Arnott or any one of our more physical guys would skate full speed and tackled Peters if he attempted to engage Vokoun.

Tkachuk traded to Atlanta for a 1st, 3rd, and ex Nashville Knight Glen Metropolit.

Important thing here is that he goes east, rather than to Detroit or Anaheim, both which were rumored interested.

The Blues also get an additional 2008 first round pick if Keith resigns with the Thrashers in the off-season. This is a gigantic return for Tkachuk. It will be intriguing to see how Anaheim and Detroit respond with Guerin (arguably the better player for the playoff run) still on the market.

!!!!!

What a stretch run this year.

i don't see tkachuk signing in atlanta, but i think they agreed to that stipulation just to sweeten the deal. i imagine they have no interest in resigning him.

I disagree. I would imagine Atlanta would love to resign him, but by adding in the first round pick, the Blues have essentially cut Tkachuk off from the Thrashers in the off-season. Who is honestly going to sign a guy if they know firsthand it will cost them a first round pick....and it is not an RFA deal....

What sucks for us is if Atlanta does not win and does not make the playoffs and that pick is the lottery winner moving it into the top 10(not like Atlanta has ever won a lottery or anything) and then The Thrashers resign Tkachuk and tanks it next season and that pick is in the top 5 (along with a top 5 Blues pick). This would re-build the Lose quickly.

San Jose just acquired defenseman Craig Rivet and an '08 5th round pick from Montreal for defenseman Josh Georges and an '07 1st rounder.

Ergo, the boards go to ghetto style as the posting of Montreal and San Jose fans go nuts.

Wings have had a solid, consistent season this year. It will come down to whether or not we can match their play.

I'm beginning to think the Blackhawks won't beat the Wings again untill 2012 or something; heck they blew a 2 goal lead with less than 1 minute last year vs them. Every time I see Blackhawks vs Red Wings on the schedule, I know it's 2 points for Detroit.

Hasek out the next 2 games, Chelios out again tonight.

Cleary, Samuelsson, Bertuzzi, Zetterberg all out for the next few weeks.

No pressure!

Remember when people thought the 'Hawks were going to possibly win the Central coming out of the lockout?

I think the Hawks view the Wings like the Jackets view us. 0 points, eh?

Avs were up 2 - 0 with less than a minute to go in the second period. All of a sudden the Wings score and head into the break with a 2-1 deficit to make up. Less than two minutes into the third, they have tied it up and have 8 shots on goal by the 5 minute mark, with arguably 5-6 scoring chances....Yikes!

Heh, the Red Wings, after completely dominating the Avs for 8 minutes, give up a goal to the Avs on the first shot of the period. Stastny with another assist, he is on a 15 game point streak (2 assists tonight), which is the longest streak for a rookie in the NHL in over a decade (Selanne had a 17 game point streak in 92-93). Wow! Would we not like to have another chance at drafting this kid? He went in the second round at that!
