Warmups Before the Canes/Habs Game

I was at the Canes/Habs game the other night. During the warmups I happened to look out at center ice and saw Justin Williams and Sako Koivu chatting at the center line. After a couple of moments, they both smiled and turned back to their respective warmups. This was obviously the first time they had faced each other since that horrible incident last spring during the playoffs when Koivu was accidently injured by JW. The meeting was obviously friendly and it made me feel good about the way JW and SK handled it. They seem to both be class guys. Considering that we gave up four goals, I was really glad Koivu got one of them. Good to see him back in form and hope things go well for him.

Thanks for the post. Nice to know they both dealt with it in a sensible manner. Being a big Saku fan, I'd love to see one of our players hammer Williams, just as long as its clean though. I wouldn't want the sport to have to deal with any more crazy instances of someone trying to gain revenge. Thanks for letting u know what happened, I hadn't heard anything about it (other than during the build-up to the game, Saku said his 'revenge' would be on the scoreboard for the playoff defeat, nothing else).

It was during the warmups, probably before the TV broadcast started. No one here seemed to pick up on it either. BTW, Huet was a wall. We couldn't get by it.

I was sure it would work out that way.

Saku is a great guy and JW also has a good reputation.
I'm glad they handled this nicely.

Obviously, the big win is far more important than retaliation.

Good to see two classy players handle the situation in a very professional and cordial manner unlike a certain team here in Vancouver and a certain player in Florida.

Good stuff. I was never under the impression that Williams wasn't a stand-up kind of guy. He just needs to keep his stick down

If Koivu had more heart and wasn't in it just for the money, he would have never done that. An eye for an eye...
