What? They're playing the best team in the NHL and winning. Skating hard playing great D, and Weekes is having another solid outing.

I've been critical of the refs before, and always been called a homer.

Though this time, we got a 5 on 3 for free. On the first Buffalo didn't even touch Betts and the 2nd was defenitly a extreme borderline call. That we should be glad for. But its not like we have been on the reciving end at times this year...

Buffalo defenitly slowed down some in that period, not strange with a late game last night.

Again we are playing pretty smart defensivly, staying at the right side of the puck, not taking a single penaltys while collected on defense. Thats good.

Nylander and Straka played also played extremely well in the transition game in the 2nd, big diffrence from the 1st.

Ozo looks a little tired, slow gooing back to get the puck on the PP.

Cullen is having a good game, though he must get that 2 on 1 shot on the net. Allot of open net to shoot on there. Don't remember if it would have been 4-1 or 4-2, but it would have been a big goal.

I defenitly think our PP is on the right way. They constantly either finding open Shanahans or Jagrs for one timers. We will land at 20% if we keep playing like this. Though, I do think we at times kind of lacks a bit of a killer instincts. Up 3-1, on our last PP in the 2nd, it was obvious from the start that we wheren't gooing to create anything. We defenitly looked too comfortable there.

Dude, did you miss the SJ game? Did you miss the win earlier in the season when we faced NJ and really dominated most of the game. Did you miss opening night? Sure, this is the best team in the NHL right now...but we haven't played well at all. It's really been the Sabres taking stupid penalties and handing us a few goals, and now we're starting to hand them back. I don't think it really compares to the 3 other games I mentioned

I agree with you sabresfan44. I'm never a fan of saying a ref decides a game, although some games its a good argument (our win over Anaheim) but this isn't one, and i cant think of any others off the top of my head. Both teams gotta play with the refs. lets face it, most are just BAD, not bias. So both teams get bs calls.

Bad calls is my last hockey game where the ref blew the whistle as my goalie had the puck, then after they jam at it for 2 seconds and a scramble ensues, it finds its way into the net and they go oh i guess its a goal. THAT decided a game =p

Im not denying the fact that the calls have helped us as much as they have hurt us.

All I am saying is I dont enjoy the feeling of power the refs have when it comes to the games... at least it seems that way now.

I cant speak about his game in perticular, but in the severial games i have watched this year, excluding the one against the Ducks, the game is too much stop and go and not enough play.

But, i guess this is somethign we will get used to.... i am still allowed to vent about it thou

Buffalo was dominating at 5 on 5 outshooting the Rangers 9-1, then Ranger PP after Ranger PP after Ranger PP your team has 14 straight shots and were up 3-1.

Now it's starting to even itself out with Ranger penalties (most of them legit like to many men)

So don't complain it goes both ways
Agreed. I think they should be more careful. Why call a penalty like the one where Betts fell. If they don't see it, don't call it. Why guess?

And like the too many men penalty against us. Why call that? Isn't it enough penaltys as it is. We where 6 men, but had two along the boards... If they where to call thoose every night there would be 10 bench minors per game...

The only game I've missed this year was the Phoenix game. The SJ game was awesome as well, but they're not Buffalo. Jersey is playing as bad as we are. Buffalo is the talk of the NHL, and likely to win the cup this year. We've played week at home lately, and we're keeping up with the fastest team in the league. I like what I'm seeing- except the first period of course. We'll see how it ends.

well of course you are, you make some valid points. The refs need to look at playoff games where refs let up on some stuff and just let them play. But we have no control over that. So, with that said, back to the game!
