Stick Cutting/Flex Affect

Second question of the night...I'm looking to get a flexier stick. But I usually hack off about an inch or so from the sticks I use. I was wondering what affect it has on the flex. I saw a chart on this in the Nike Bauer catalog, but can't find that anymore. It was like one inch equals a +5 in flex or something. Anyone know? Thinking about getting a 75, 77 flex as my next stick or shaft, but don't want to wind up back in the same boat with a stiff stick if I hack off too much of the stick.

I think for easton its for every inch you hack off the flex goes up by 3 points. That's what I was told by someone from a hockey shop (Cyclones if you live in Van).

Isn't 75 a little low tho? I never knew you clould buy sticks with so much give. I use an 85 and cut off two inches.

Ok that sounds about right. Naw..75 with a inch or two cut off would be perfect I think. I had an 80 flex shaft with an inch off and felt decent. But I'm at like 90 with an inch gone now and that's too much...so thinking 75 or 77 hacked off would put me at 80. And yeah, you can buy them, Bauer srs. come in 77, and others you can buy intermediates. I never thought of the advice I got would actually be right. Taking your weight and dividing by half would be a good flex to use...but that's what is looking like is good.
