Anyone have one? Seriously, Minnesota defense is starting to tank and they have no one in their system really to take over. Just a bunch of role players. They need a top 4 defensemen or a top pick in this years draft to draft Barker or O'Neill.

What do you consider a Top 4 defenseman? I'd be willing to talk Jay McKee (though he's currently hurt). Does Brian Campbell qualify in your book?

I was looking at Campbell on the Sabres...

I just want a legit defensemen that can be moved in and take top position (the number 1 or 2 spot) for Minnesota. I don't want a Jay or a Pitkanen but I still want maybe a Holmqvist, Tjutin, Seabrooke, Coburn, Suter, Phaneuf, something along those lines..

Does Minnesota have future PF in the making? If so, Montreal could "maybe" consider dealing Komisarek. He definetivly be a guy to rally around.

Something centered around Campbell for Brown maybe perhaps? I like the way Soupy was progressing last year but he's struggled so far this season. He definite has potential to be a top 4 player and with Lemaire's Midas Touch he probably could be in short order.

Well they have Mikko Koivu, although i'm not sure he qualifies as a future PF...

At any rate, i don't see either club trading those top prospects at this point.

Trade ya Tom Poti for a jelly doughnut. Raspberry, but grape is acceptable.

We'll trade you Hal Gill for a contract saying Joe Thornton must shoot at least one time per game

If any of the guys you named - none of whom have played a minute of NHL hockey - could step in TODAY and legitimately be your #1 Dman, your team is a lot worse off than it appears. Maybe in 3-5 years.

I was going to suggest your pick of any of the Isles top four, but you obviously have your sights set on an under-20, unproven kid. :p

What about Tommy Alblin, He is a good 5th defenseman and would add Stanley cup leadership, with 2 under his belt

Sorry had to go out for dinner:

Minnesota does have a PF (three to be exact) coming through or on their system. It is a stretch to call Foy a PF but I've had heard some people saying he is. Wanvig is definitely a PF and Burns is coming into his own as one. Wanvig is definitely up for trade along with Koivu, Minnie fans aren't liking his production over in Finland and would rather see him out. I like him though.

Campbell for Brown I would do it in a heart beat. Brown has played great but a lot of fans haven't been happy with him the past couple of years. He's playing good for once this year so yay! I was thinking around that.

I would LOVE a top 4 from the Isles but they are too pricey and we don't have a lot to give for them that we want to lose.

But we need a young kid too because our guys are young and they'll be phased out sooner than later. I know 3-5 years but still we need a top 4 through our system! Our team is actually pretty bad off defensively which is strange.

Uhhhh...how about a pie for Poti? Boris already has enough donuts.

Josh Harding could definetely be a good bargaining chip. Any team with very old and/or bad goaltending would definetely want him.

Also, if Minny needs a top 4 d-man, why not sign Yushkevich or Housely. Housely might come pretty cheap since he's playing in his home state. Both can be valuble, especially in the leadership department.

Housley should be retired.

Minnesota is DEFINITELY not trading Harding.

It's like Atlanta trading Lehtonen.

LOL at the Poti joke, seriously though, as much as I hate him he is a top four defenseman.

I'd trade you him for a decent prospect and pick.

But not many of the remaining Canuck players have considerable value. As for the Wild, the only players that teams would be seriously interested in are Gaborik, Bouchard, Schultz, Mitchell, Dupuis, Koivu, Burns, etc. In other words, all the players that the Wild won't trade. Anybody the Wild have on the market aren't the types of players that other teams will give up much for, and certainly not a top-4 d-man.

Or you could base something around Matt Foy.

Montreal is willing to trade a RD to make room for Komisarek. A guy like Rivet or Brisebois could be a good fit for Minnesota

What would be a cost of someone like Brisebois?
