Extra: Downey/Murray

Based on what I've seen in preseason, I think Kostitsyn can produce playing on a top-two line.
I'd put Perezhogin on the first, since the 1st line is based on Forchecking. Kost on the second, Pleks on the third, Lats on the 4th.

You don't think Kostitsyn can score goals at the NHL level?

Everybody knows about him having underachieved in Hamilton, but don't discount his potential just yet. He might not have done anything in Hamilton this year to deserve to be the first call-up, but he was arguably our best player this preseason. Some people don't want to hear about lack of motivation, but not everybody has the same emotional makeup.

Kostitsyn can skate well, is becoming responsible defensively, and has an elite-level arsenal of shots. Let's see what he can do playing with good players in the NHL before we say "screw Kostitsyn".

Call up both Lapierre and Kostitsyn

Sit Perezhogin in the press box, replace him by Kost on the Kovy line... Play Lapierre over Murray.

Perezhogin???????

Comedy of mistakes in the first, by far our worst period so far in the season.

the one on Dundurn, Andrei is apparently in there all the time (a few of my buddies work there).

They stuck out like sore thumbs as they were all dressed in European clothes...really flashy, that's what caught my eye.

I thought about going to meet them, but then remembered they don't speak English very well.

Sit Latendresse if anyone, he leads the team at -6 and is zero in every other category besides that.

Perez has one bad period and its time for the pressbox give me a break.

Uhh.. No. And, he actually has shown that at the NHL level, when he's on the offensive he faces the other teams net. Unlike Latendresse, who is comfortable to stare at anywhere but where he is shooting.

No, he was quite brutal in the first losing the puck everytime he touched it, Im a big Perez fan but at the moment he just doesnt do the job... At least 1 game from the pressbox watching Kostitsyn perform should be a good wake up.

So now we've gone from wanting to bench players for one poor game to benching players for one bad period. What's next, benching a player for one bad change?

*Bump*

Hey Bob, if you're reading: Do it. Do it now.

If it's a cap issue, call Lou and ask him for pointers.

Like I said 5 days ago, gotta replace skill by skill...and, luckily, we have skill in the organization.

Nothing more painful then watching Plekanec creating a good forecheck by himself but because he has no support from his wingers.. it's wasted.

I think Perezhogin is a good player. He's fast, he forechecks and backchecks, and he has offensive skill. He's also a +7, tops on the team.

Plekanec is wasted on the 4th line with Murray and Downey. That seems to be equivalent to playing with Ivanans and Vandermeer.

Adding Kostitsyn should give the Habs some much needed offensive punch now that Higgins is injured and Kovalev has a bad knee.
