But Thomas has been struggling...wouldn't you give the kid a chance?
Thomas' numbers arent that bad this year suprisingly.
played great to get the win vs Ottawa
played good against Buffalo and shoulda had the win (except for the TEAMS collapse in the 3rd)
came in and got the win agaisnt tampa.
and even tho he allowed 5 goals last game, he still made 35 saves, including 20 in the first period. if not for the TEAM being shorhanded for half the game, they probably coulda stole a win. 5 gaa, 4 of them were PP goals no?
he isnt a true #1, but hes as close as they have at the moment.
Why start the thread with mystery then? This is deflating to say the least, and not what B's fans want at this moment.
Very good question, and a very easy answer: no one knew, when I started the thread, what they were doing with the open GT spot (see: Boston.com's original thread).
From the time I started the thread, til the time I posted what they were doing, I made calls to confirm.
Hope that answers it for you.
I certainly hope that no one believes that Finley is the answer to this club's goaltending woes. maybe a quick fix, but he hasn't been able to prove himself in the years since he was drafted other than the groin that he constantly strains.
No one believe's that. Hannu needs the playing time in Providence to get his game back. That's what this is about, not promoting
Didn't mean it like that KPD...meant to respond more to the responses to your post...not your post.
No apologies necessary. But thanks for the thought. And truth is, much could change 'tween now and Thurs. eve. Which is precisely what keeps newspapers and websites in biz....
Riight now, and again I streess RIGHT NOW....I am told they plan to have Toivonen start at least three straight in Prov., hoping that he hones his game and returns with confidence.
But you never know....a deal drops out of the sky.....?????
Has he every been right anywas I dont want to trade Hannu he has so much potential and I still think that this year he will be a good goalie give him about 5 starts or so in providence let him get all his confidence back. Than call him up put him in right away and see what he is made of. I hope Hannu does well im really rooting for him not to be the next Raycroft
I can't. One of the few goalies in the NHL to be playing worse than Hannu or Thomas.

Agreed. My money is on Legace. He's got ties to Lewis and could probably be had for a pick, now that we've cleared the cap space by sending Hannu down. It's stop-gap, but that's OK. This is the best thing for Hannu right now. When he gets it together, Legace will be an outstaning backup, with experience and a small cap number.
