Sharks mascot “S.J. Sharkie” was chosen by Sports Illustrated as the NHL’s best mascot for his ability to rappel from the arena rafters and drive an ATV on ice.
We're boned.

Yeah you are...

SJ Sharkie has taken over the #1 goaltending position from both Nabokov and Toskala. Just wait till you see his impressive fin saves against your team.

I as a Sharks fan don't feel good about this one either.

4-2 Wild.

Some random pre-game thoughts:

-Demitra needs to get out of his funk. Gabby or no Gabby, he is one of the best players on this team, and he needs to play like it. I thought he played really well against Nashville, hopefully it was the beginning of an upward trend.

-Bouchard needs to get out of his funk, too. He's been pretty much invisible lately, we need the real Bouchard back. I think we'll see a much better PMB tonight, 'cause I'm sure he wants to be back with Rolston and White, and the only way it's gonna happen is if he plays better.

-Manny needs to get out of his funk.... geez, what's with all these funks on the team? It was reported that he's been struggling with a bit of a flu bug lately, so I'll cut him some slack. Still, he needs to come back in a big way some time during this road trip.

-Useless stat: Niklas Backstrom is the first goalie since 1918 to win his first two career NHL games, while having zero NHL starts. Be afraid, Sharkies, if you think getting off to a good start and chasing Fernandez guarantees you the victory, you are wrong, oh so very wrong Having said that, I'd like to see Backstrom get a start during this road trip. The guy is a VERY capable goalie.

-I think the Wild will turn in one of the better performances of the season tonight. The reason? That little Father-Son thing the Wild are doing. If anything is for certain tonight, it's that the Wild will not mail in the effort in front of their dads.

This will be a test for Ron Wilson and his staff tonight.

The last time the Wild visited SJ, they flat out dominated the game from start to finish.

This game, I am curious to see what adjustments from the last game will be made and how Wilson coaches.

Your team is for real, but so is San Jose. Two fun teams to watch...

I'm not watching the game, but I see that we are losing 2-1 midway through the 3rd. Somebody gotta tell me how we are looking, 16 shots against 28 don't sound too good.

Great, 3-1, 4 mins left. Time to put Backstrom in if we want to win this thing

You can blame me for the loss. Wild's record is now 1-3 when I don't watch the game. It's obviously my fault.

Hate to say it but the Wild totally got jobbed by the Referee's in this game. SJS get 5 straight Pwr Plays on boarder line calls. Inbetween the 10-5 minute remaining mark Wild were pressing, and SJS defender took his hand off his stick and held a Wild forwards stick for about 3 seconds infront of Magoo. Don't know exactly *** Magoo was looking at but definatley not too concerned.
The refs could of gave Wild a Pwr Play or 2 but they didn't. SJS very fortunate to win this game.

i was at the game, man. you can't blame the loss on the refs. it was a good played game on both sides. you guys just got beat. deal with it. it woulda been 6-1 if not for manny.

Fernandez had little affect on the game. The Sharks are unable to finish plays at the moment or they would have had 6 or 7 regardless of who was in nets.

MF was awesome last night.

Did you see the look on Clowe's face on the point blank shot in the second?

Nabby made a few great saves too, but Fernandez was lights-out!

Game could easily have been 5-1 SJ.

No, the Wild support the puck near-perfectly in front of their own net. Rebounds are taken and cleared more often than not. The Sharks used speed to get it deep in the offensive zone but could never get any sustained pressure because one shot was all they could get.
