Pack down 1-0 after two periods. It seems they've only been able to muster 17 shots on goal and have taken a ton of penalties. Man, they are struggling to find their game right now. Anyone watching?

3-0 now.

Sad thing is Kaspar, Purinton and Richter, 3 defensemen were all on the ice for the last GA.....hmmm

That was just awful. I wanted to listen to the game on the 'puter, so I did... from the second period to around the start of the third, when it was 3-0.

This is not a good year. *shakes head*

Yes, we do have a bunch of first year players on the team this year. (If I remember correctly, I can count how many returnees there are with my hands... And possibly one of them.) In the last game I went to on the fourth, we seemed to do really good scoring early. And then we can't keep a lead. Or we almost lose it.

Play of the Game: Darius Kasparaitis shoots the puck at an empty net, and raises his hands in celebration... only to have his shot miss by a good couple of feet.

Why did they pull their goalie?

they've been rotating a forward out of the lineup so that could be why he sat..... lots of kids in this lineup have to expect some growing pains.

It's certainly starting to look that way.

Of course. An awful lot of teams looking to acquire broken down old defensemen who are doing poorly in the minors. There will probably be a bidding war.

Why would the Kings do that? Please ask yourself that when you come up with your proposals.

I'm in no rush to deal Blair Betts right now.

The net wasn't technically empty... the goalie was there but he was down and out of the play. Kasparaitis had an empty net to shoot at, he just missed.

Not at all.

Conroy for all his struggles, is still a guy who looks like he can play in the NHL.

Right now Kaspar really looks like he is reaching the end of the road, of course things can change, but realistically it does appear that there's little left in the tank.

For his style of play, that really isn't that unheard of. Players who rely on their physical play are a mixed bag in that sense. When they're young and able they give you that extra edge that you need. But the flip side is that their ability can almost go away at the flip of a switch.

History is filled with lots of physical players who were done in by that one injury too many or that one offseason. Sadly, this summer may have marked that time for Kaspar.
