Holmgren looking at Rico?

per Delco Times:

"Quietly, Holmgren investigated the availability of former captain Eric Desjardins, who retired after last season. While Holmgren floated the idea of Desjardins as returning as an assistant coach with the Phantoms, the conversation turned, too, to the veteran defensemanís injured hip. "When I talked to him the other day about coaching," Holmgren said, "I got the impression that he still was not 100 percent." But should Desjardins be healthy and the Flyers be within range of the playoffs in, say, February ..why not?"

Wait...are they suggesting he come back and play? Is that what I'm getting out of that?

Coach with the Phantoms? Sure, why not? I think he'd be a great help to Picard, in particular.

Play for the Flyers? Hell no. Thanks for the years of dedication Rico, but hang 'em up and leave 'em there.

Is Gauthier really overpaid? I do not think so. I mean as far as $ he is not overpaid. Gill is making 2.5. But to get him we gave up two second round picks.

Why not call Joel Otto, Paul Coffey and Adam Oates while we are at it?

I was thinking Brett Lindros. That would be a good story and sell some seats. How many Lindors jerseys could be worn again.

I think the Flyers have already perfected the high and wide shot (Has Rico secretly been coaching Carter?) so we dont need Rico to help them out further.
