How soon until he can be in the lineup? Does he need 10 days of conditioning?

Who knows, AXN...

and I think they'll know after a few practices with full contact, which is still a week and a half away. If all goes well, I don't see why he wouldn't be in the lineup starting December (I ain't no doctor, but that seems reasonable).

Otry is a potential 20-30 goal scorer in the show. Too bad he's been relegated to 4th line energy man for life.

Are you talking about Bobby Ort? Is the "t" silent? I love Jed but this may indeed be the grossest overvaluation I have ever read about him.

ya I was exaggerating a little but he could potentially pop in 15-20...I mean he was a top scorer in USHL and division 1, there have been guys who put up lesser numbers in D1 that have gone on to be scorers in the NHL

Hard to say that when he hasn't scored 15 goals for his whole career. Not even half that.

Which, SBoB...

as we both know, is why he's relegated to the fourth line for life. Two goals he scored last year. Other Rangers fourth liners, i.e., his linemate Moore, scored 9. Two's just not enough to warrant a promotion, and I think we're all in agreement that he just isn't a skille player. He's one-dimensional offensively, but a darn good character guy and spark off the bench.

Agreed Fletch. That's also why I felt that he was not a lock to make the team (when he was healthy).

Same here...

but I'd rather see him and Dawes in than Hossa and Orr, that's fer sure. That could also prompt Renney to rest Shanny and not feel compelled to play him on the PK, because JOrts is a fine replacement for Shanny.

Ain't that the truth. Ortmeyer is very good on the kill. It's good news that his return is soon. Glad to see him back. He's really good for the bench and lockerroom. The team is better with him around.....
