I saw Chris play his 1st game yesterday, he picked up an assist as SSK beat AIK with 4-2. He played with two former Detroit picks (Steen & Kollar), those three litterally bulldozed over the smaller opposition. Chris looked actually okay for this level, not at all useless as one perhaps would expect. His size and strength are well needed on this team and it looked kind of funny when he shrugged of opponents in the corners as if they were flies.

When asked why he didn´t take any penalties, he answered that he didn´t have to.

Hmm, exactly what I'd hope for him.

And I think that if he gets used to playing ok at this level then he might pick up skills, or habits, that will allow him to play like that one level higher too.

Btw, is he on a full or 182 day (artist) contract?
Anybody who know?

Well, I'm just glad to see Dinger playing hockey somewhere, I assume hes getting paid a decent amount too otherwise he wouldn't be way over there.

It's not Dinger's fault he was drafted by Calgary and was "developed" in the joke of a minor league system they had for so many years. And he did produce moderately in the AHL (8G, 8A in 27GP) last season, so he can score. If he parks in front of the net on the PP he won't be moved, so he could put some points up. And he does excellent work in the corners, he's massive and tough to move. He could probably be a good second liner and produce a few points.

"Dinger" with a goal and an assist tonight (the game was a 7-2 win for Södertälje), 3pts in 3 games, most surprisingly is no penalties.

Södertälje's 1st line (with Dinger) weighs in at about 655lbs.

Glad to see he's doing well so far, he's a hard worker who deserves it.

Congrats to Dinger. What weight is he listed at this season?

Thanks, I was wondering if he showed up with some extra weight on him since he was skating with the local college club team for a couple months.

I hope that extra weight doesn't hurt his awesome skating ability.
