VAN - PHILLY Proposal

Peter Forsberg and 3rd round draft pick

for

brendan morrison
Matt Cooke
Luc bourdon

First I have to say this trade is for an excellent player that suffers from inury problems and in his last year of his contract. That being said...we can offer these players...

brendan morrison thrives with good players and playing along side Gagne would work. he is a fast playmaking centre who backchecks great and plays with heart. He rarely misses games due to injury unlike forsberg. Also, the addition of cooke could open up space for 2nd and 3rd line players and provides a fast, skilled but slightly overpaid pest who is great in the clutch. He also adds hitting to the flyers and is a valuable asset for any team. In addition adding luc bourdon a blue chip prospect would be huge for a rebuilding team like the Flyers and he could become a great player in the years to come.

This would also benefit the canucks. The canucks lose a great centre, energizing player and their top blue chip prospect but do gain a legitimate top tier centre. This would provide the Canucks with more balanced scoring...
forsberg,naslund and bulis?
and
sedins and pyatt
good trade for both teams...what you think??

Seriously dude, we've seen this exact trade a hundred times.

We don't want Vancouver's scraps.

Obviously Bourdon is not a scrap.

But try searching the board to see how many ****ing times this proposal has been shown to us.

We'd want young players or prospects. Hence us being a semi rebuilding team

Bourdon and a 1st at least. If you take a look at all the rental trades last year - Roloson, Weight, Witt, they all got at least a 1st round pick.

I would also want a forward off the roster but I'm not sure who, as long as it's not Cooke or Morrison. I'm so tired of seeing Morrison's name in all these proposals. If him and Cooke would stop being the centre of every deal coming out of Canucks fans' mouths, I might be interested. But when you see so many fans so willing to trade 2 specific players, there's obviously a reason.

No thanks to Morrison, Cooke maybe if it came with Bourdon and a 1st.

Seeing as the major issue with the flyers is with defense, that'd be a good place to start. That said, I doubt very much the Nucks would be willing to part with what it would take, ie Ohlund or Salo & Bourdon.

yea i agree. we would ned some people to play now and some that will be good in a few years. i think that is decent deal but that the flyers may be ablr to get better at the deadline. if foppa waives his NTC the flyers would trade him to a team that he would want to go so that may limit the deadline overpayment idea...

if the Flyers trade Forsberg to the Canucks, I want Roberto Luongo to be in that trade.

What you want and what would happen in real life appear to be polar opposites.

Vancouver isn't a great trade partner anyway... i'd rather cut a deal with someone like Anaheim.

Nashville is really my only choice if we're looking to bolster the blueline.

good option as well...

Anaheim is stacked with good talent, and they're going to have a late 1st that they won't feel bad about parting with for sure.

Problem from the nucks point of view is how legit is the rumour of forsberg going back to Sweden after this year?

and from the flyers point of view

Both Cooke and Morrison have been horrible this year--why would they want them
