What would your All-TIme AllStar Bruins line look like? three forwards and two defense + 1 goalie. Any years as long as they played at least one full season for the bruins.

mine would be half and half, based on favorites and based on historical prominence<SP?

to each their own lol. grew up watching neely, bourque, moog and well as far as i am concerned there would be just as many reasons to love shore as orr depending on the person i guess. kind of a toss up though between orr and bourque but since i grew up with bourque had to give him the edge

i will give you a team of players ive seen...

first line i want to score... be big... be fast... be good

Cam Neely/Joe Thornton/Wayne Cashman. Cash does the dirty work to let Cam bang home big Joe's setups.

Second line i want as much speed and dipsy dooesy as possible... being defensive responsible doesnt hurt either

Rick Middleton/Adam Oates/Patrice Bergeron. I imagine Middleton plays the offwing... Bergeron prob sticks to the rightside.

Third line i want to be able to shut down the enemy

Terry OReilly/Derek Sanderson/Don Marcotte. This line would prob be a number 1 scoring unit on many teams today too. Nice penalty killing for the team with these guys around.

Fourth line prob wouldnt see the ice much with these three in front of it so I will dress some specialists.

Phil Espositio and his hall of fame talent is reduced to PP specialist for me
John Buyck and his hall of fame talent becomes my ultility guy
Phil Kessel and all his untapped promise sticks around to learn from these winners

In the pressboy I sit

Jay Miller for when things get rough
Nevin Markwart cause I love his name and the way he played the game.

For defense...

Bobby Orr partners up with Brad Park on unit one.
Raymond Borque partners up with Zdeno Chara on unit two

i cant imagine any icetime being left for unit three... but i dress ummm...

Mike Milbury and a healthy Gord Kluzak just cause i like personality and i think these guys were winners.

in the press box a young Mark Stuart can sit and practice with the team to let it rub off on him.

Goaltending...
for a big money game Gerry Cheevers was the man

I love Toivonens raw talent... I let him back up

in the AHL ready to jump up if anyone gets hurt... Reggie Lemelin

thats about it...

for just one dream lineup... if everyone was healthy and I wanted to score a goal...

Id put Borque and Orr at the points... I think Sanderson to take the face off. Neely to be my shooter in the slot... and Oates as the teams best playmaker ive seen

First off, I have to say that Bobby Orr was at least twice as good as any other player I ever saw in a Bruins uniform, yes, he was twice as good as Ray Bourque. Ok, now that I have that off my chest

using only players I have seen, this would be my team:

Cashman Esposito Hodge
Bucyk Oates Neely
Secord Ratelle Middleton
Jonathan Sanderson OReilly

Orr Bourque
Park Chara
OReilly24_Thornton19 is right, there would be no time left for any other defensemen to play, but in case of injury,
Kluzak Stuart

Cheevers
Moog

extras Thornton, Axelsson, Wensink, Milbury,, Gilbert

Definately not the fastest team, but with the exception of Ratelle, Oates, Middleton and Axelsson, this would be a devastating hitting team that could score with the best of them.

Also, using only players I've seen and have a good recollection of. (I know I watched Hodge and some others was I was 7 or 8, but I don't remember them that well)

Bucyk - Oates - Neely

Cashman - Janney - Middleton

Poulin - B. Pederson - O'Reilly

Secord - Linesman - Jonathan

(Marcotte - extra F)

Orr - Bourque

Chara - Park

O'Connell - B.Stuart

Cheevers - Moog

The first line would be awesome. Heck Oates and Neely carried this team with a LW'er or three that weren't in the same stratosphere as Bucyk.

2nd line - Janney and Middleton would be incredible, IMO (Sorry for breaking up Pederson/Middleton DKH - Barry was just much better defensively so he goes to the third) and Cashman would be there to do what he did best - grind, muck and protect.

Third line - Dave Poulin moves to the left because he would be a dominant defensive presence anywhere and he could score too.Pederson and O'Reilly combine to bring talent, grit, smarts and toughness.

Fourth line - would have absolutely been the most entertaining line in the history of hockey. Linesman to stir the pot - Secord and Jonathan to clean clocks. Probably the toughest linemates in history. Only Probert and Kocur would be close, IMO. Plus they could all play!

On D - Bourque, Orr, Park and Chara are obvious - O'Connell for those that didn't see him play was a very good, efficient and talented guy who was IMO the 2nd best #2 that Ray every played with on a consistent basis - after Park.

Brad Stuart, although only here a short time is among the most talented guys the B's have had back there since I've been watching. (I thought about Kluzak and Thelven for that spot but in the end I went with Stuart)

not my favorite...but my favorite to watch on the PK was Poulin/Reid. Blocking shots, throwing the body, wicked speed, lots of shorthanded goals...

Amen. I grew up watching Dave Reid completely ignore the man disadvantage and score SHG like it was nothing spectacular.

Can you imagine these 2 in the 'NEW NHL'? They'd pot 50 shorties in a season between them...

No, I limited it to players that I remember seeing play and while I probably did see Espo play a few times he went to the Rangers when I was about 6.
