Time to beat them on their home ice for once.

Rupp with a good hit. Gionta gets a good scoring chance but can't bury it. So far the Ducks are coming out hard against Brodeur.

Just curious, how's Martin looking?

1-0 Nj

Rafalski flicks a weak wrister from the top of the circle which hits Carney and still trickles by Giguere. JS should have had that one. PP Goal. Niedermayer and Madden get assists.

He was looking good holding the fort until Sykora scored a moment ago right before the period ended. The shot hit Stevens' leg just like the last goal went off a Ducks defenseman and it changed direction on Brodeur.

That is sweet. White and Langenbrunner had one bad bad breakdown which almost led directly to a Ducks goal. Martin was sharp on that one. Scoring chances were pretty even in the period. Sykora's shot was pretty hard - don't think Brodeur had much of a chance stopping it.

Yeah White is always good for a scare or two, but he's getting better. I have yet to complain about Jamie, one of the most underrated two-way forwards that there is, when he makes a mistake like the one you saw it's rare. Good for Martin, that's my boy.

2-1 Ducks

Fedorov scores on a rebound that Brodeur kicked right to him. Gomez slipped up coverage wise.

Langenbrunner had a brilliant hit on Ozolinsh with less then ten seconds to go in the 2nd period. Devils need to pick things up. Rasmussen's penalty was a dumb one.

Tonight he's been in the penalty box twice and has one shot on goal through 2 periods. He jumped in to help out Madden when Sykora grabbed him by the head and threw him into the net this period. Him and Elias are both perfect on faceoffs winning one and losing none so far.

I hear ya. Best thing at the end of last period was seeing Carolyn Hughes who does sports updates for Fox in So Cal...

2-2 Game

Rupp redirects the puck and Elias scores on a quick tap in to the left of Giguere.

Prospal preserved the tie right after the goal when Turner Stevenson almost got the go ahead tally.

3-2 Devils

Gionta scores right after he jumped out of the penalty box for an elbowing call. He went hard to the net while Madden did the same thing to the right of him.

Edit: Goal may have been Madden's. Looks like it hit his knee while he was sliding.

3-3

MacDonald to Fedorov after the Devils were caught with too many men on the ice.

Sigh. Let's hope Elias can come up with some more OT heroics.

Damn, I come home and turn on the TV and not more than 5 seconds in the Ducks tie it up. How've we looked so far?

Pretty even game until the 3rd period where I thought NJ was carrying the play more then the Ducks despite being shorthanded so often. Couple big hits, back and forth scoring, Fedorov figuring in all 3 Ducks goals.

We're in OT!

I only caught parts of this game. Had to show a friend Slap Shot. He loved it. From what I saw, really exciting game. Though, I wished NJ didn't give up so many shots to Anaheim. Eh. It's 3-3 in OT and...

BRYLIN! Goal? Maybe?

UPDATE: No, no goal.

Wow, that was awful. Seven guys on the ice at that time of the hockey game.

Yeah it was real bad. Not sure which was worse - when the Devils blew Brodeur's shutout bid to the Penguins with less then 30 seconds or tonights breakdown around the 18 minute mark. Prior to this, NJ was backing up Anaheim through the 3rd holding them shotless on their numerous pp attempts.

Game ends in a 3-3 tie.

Very disappointing tie. The only good points are:

1) Devils continue their streak.
2) 3 points in two nights. Not bad I guess.

Funny how we're so used to winning. When there is a tie, it's disappointing.
