Reminds me of the time HF boards made Marek Svatos the Hart Trophy favorite
My vote is in!
We did something similar too. Forbes had an online poll, asking which NHL player (for season 2003-04) should be voted NHL MVP. It had regular star players like Martin St. Louis, Ilya Kovalchuk, Jarome Iginla... and in the midst of them all was Marek Malik. We're pretty sure he was there because he led the NHL in plus/minus, but it was funny anyways.
HFBoards got to it, and Malik got 71% of the votes.
Don't know if it registers or not but if you just use that direct link. Then fill out the form, hit submit then hit the back button on the browser all the players are filled in as well as that word. So you just hit submit again. Rinse and repeat. Alot easier.
The only problem with this is I can picture them seeing the stats all out of whack, so they can just run a script that removes all but one vote per IP. But goodluck anyways
It's hard to say, but I doubt that this will create two votes. Even if they allow multiple votes per IP, I would be shocked if they allow multiple votes per Session ID. However, I did notice that if you hit the Back button and then hit Refresh or F5, it reloads the page with all of your selections, but it creates a new confirmation word. Then when you hit submit, it goes to the original confirmation page (the "Register to win" one). But if you just hit Submit without refreshing, you end up at a different confirmation page ("Thank you fans"), which probably means it remembers you and didn't resubmit your vote.
So use the Firefox link (http://www.nhl.com/asfb/app?service=...r&locale=en-us) and submit your selections. Then hit Back, then F5, then retype the new confirmation word and Submit again. It takes a couple of seconds longer, but I think it is much more likely that the votes will actually count.
