Lions played the best first period I saw this season. Taylor is the best complete two way centerman played in a Lions jersey for a long time. Man that hit Osterloh delivered was also the best I saw in the entire league for a long time .. a pitty Mr. Schutz penalyzed it as boarding which it wasn't. I had a clear view on it and Osterloh had all down - stick, shoulder - the Nurenberg player was miles away from the boards and Mister Laflamme proved to be a sissy stabbing Osterloh than looking to fight him. Anyway both OFF the ice with miscounducts but how I miss the NHL in these moments. Alanko is quiet impressive defensively - a bit slow though but finishing his checks in the own end. Lebeau is back to live. Quick moves and passes - looks good. And well yes Dan, they said it on TV on thursday that Hackert is on the market. I would suppose - let him go and give Oppenheimer a 15 year contract like DiPietro

So you are not too confident that Hackert will resign with Frankfurt? I'd just hate to see one of the younger core guys leave. Maybe I'm overrating his abilities a bit?
Non. Lets say it that way: He played a couple of years in Frankfurt - that's it. He's an professional athlete that will go there where they pay him the biggest paycheck you know. And there are not that many germans in the league with double diggets in goals so I guess Mannheim will offer him that much money that he'll leave towards sucking town.
well, to be honest ... thats my opinion
and about his skills: he is a highlight player, a "spinner", turning and turning but no passing always looking for the big play. There are a lot a fans here that don't like him very much - not me - but we'll miss him ALL - that's for sure - when he's gone

A lot don't care for him due to him being a bit selfish with the puck? Like you mentioned there are not many Germans with his scoring ability. I guess that is one of the main reasons I would like the club to keep him. Young and a goal scorer
I would risk the following assumption Dan: Put Hackert, Kelly, and a Hackert/Kelly-clone on a line and they would easily score 30 goals each without getting a single assist

I think this wouldn´t work, because there will be at least one of them in the penalty box when they are skating together...especially the Kelly/Hackert clo(w)ne.
Besides being a record for most points by one player in a DEL game, this was surely one of the most impressive performances by a single line. Too bad i couldn't watch the game.

@Bonecrusher & Dan Galvin: Somehow I have to agree with both of you.
Yes, it might be a bit boring for those not interested in Frankfurt or Mannheim, but everyone is free to talk about his team. Sometimes I write some lines about Berlin, for example.
So why don't you (Bonecrusher) write about your team?
Maybe, if more people from different teams posted here, it wouldn't just be a discussion about two (is there really anything positiv about Mannheim, or only from the Lions-Fans something like **** M***m???) teams

I agree. I enjoy reading about the other teams as well. How long is Kreutzer signed for? And how have Muller and Gawlik looked so far in Berlin?
As I have seen the last game from Berlin on Nov. 5 (and before that in mid October) it is a bit difficult to tell how a certain player is doing, but what I saw from Gawlik so far was quite good.
Marcel Müller is one of the players - or better THE player - on my favorite team, that I don't like. So better don't ask me about HIM.
If I can think of more that might be interesting, I'll post it. Or just ask and I'll try to answer...
Btw: Is there somewhere a Freezers-Fan out here? If so:
How's Alex Barta doing so far this season?
I know that he's the only team-captain now, but that doesn't tell me very much about how he is playing
Yeah!!! Back home from Frankfurt and very happy
Frankfurt Lions - Eisbären Berlin 2:5
The moment Rankel scored his second shorthander of the evening, I knew Berlin would win this game. And I was right!
So what was good/bad (from an Eisbären-fan's point of view)?
++ Hattrick from Rankel (2 SH, 1 emptynet)
+ Ziffzer stopped pucks, we already saw in net
+ Berlin has won
o most of the game itself
o Bären-fans (not bad, but I know we could have been louder)
- second period wasn't that good from Berlin
- M. Müller checking a lions-player in a way that he got hurt (wasn't necessary)
- Lions-fans (only loud when we started something or after their goals)
A lot on the Lions fans minds right now...could be the reason why so quiet So , does Hackert stay or go?? Man, so much stuff flying around now it can make your head spin....
