kassel's gonna get one, so you better change your favorite team.
Never!!!! I know you are a closet Lions fan Zecke What is this I hear about Krefeld going bankrupt? Is this true? I'm also hearing rumors that Alnic,Vasiljevs, and Jan may be heading Frankfurt's way? What's going on there?

can't say anything about the players, but from what i heard, krefeld has financial problems. the new arena and the low attendence is the main reason for that from what i know.
but i heard rumors that nuernberg is in problems as well, not speaking about duisburg. can anyone confirm this?

i fear we get an ugly off-season.
Krefeld always has had financial problems. Right now they're playing at the Rheinlandhalle again because ammonia was leaking underneath the Ice at the Königpalast. Ironically the attendence at the old Rheinlandhalle is much higher. The rumours about those transfers are - well - just rumours. But it's certain that their general manager Franz Fritzmeier will go to Duisburg next season.
Duisburg was thinking about going back to the Asstel-Bundesliga (formerly known as 2nd Bundesliga). But their main investor Pape decided to stay and get a competetive team next season. In order to stay at the DEL after 2009 they will either have to improve the Scania Arena or build a new one.
Nürnberg had problems because the "Arena Nürnberger Versicherungen" was too expensive. They were thinking about selling their DEL license to either Munich (EHC München), Garmisch-Partenkirchen (SC Riessersee) or Stuttgart (SC Bietigheim). But they had an agreement with the Arena on Wednesday and will stay in Nürnberg.
The "Neue Rhein/Ruhr Zeitung" from Essen writes that the Moskitos Essen could get a new 6000-capacity arena and thus be ready for the DEL. The problem is that their old rink would have to be torn down for that and they would have to move to Oberhausen for one season.
Eisbaerenfan is right there, Krefeld's been working with a tight financial budget over the last couple of years, which is widely known. I doubt that there's an immediate threat of bankruptcy, cause i think i'd know.
I don't know how negotiations with Jan and Alinc are going, but i'm positive that Vasilievs will sign a new contract in Krefeld, things seem to be looking well there.
Here's to hoping that Frankfurt gets a new rink Although I enjoyed my only visit to the Eissporthalle.
Yep let's hope!!!
and the best: we are on the way out of our (own digged) grave. If there will be a turnaround for the season it has to be NOW. We played like crap yesterday for 30 minutes and got momentum after a nice individual effort by Henderson. Though he has some problems stickhandling the puck he has quick feet and drives hard to the net. Good addition thus far. We were dead. Trailing one nothing and with a goal that didn't count because of crease violation after the first. Tough for a struggeling team. But somehow we came back. Also cause of some unexpected good play by Macholda who was (believe it or not) our PP quarterback and was playing his best game ever as a Lion.
Anyway. Now we are heading to Augsburg on sunday and then the freaky Eagles hit Frankfurt next Friday. If we could cash in both games (with the extra mental plus of beating the SAP Team from Mannheim) .. well, there we go again!

Not very likely, but hey ?!?
GO LIONS !!!
Hopefully getting a new rink won't put Frankfurt into a big hole like it seems it has with a few other teams and new rinks....
Somehow someway please God get the Lions back in this!!
Martin Hinterstocker of Rosenheim was born in '89 and is currently playing in Rosenheims Oberliga team. He started the season in the DNL but got promoted to the senior team together with 4 other 17-year old kids.
There are also 2 other Hinterstockers. Benjamin (born in '79) is playing DEL for Hamburg. And I don't know where his younger brother Martin (born '83) ended up. He played for Hamburg last season. Their fathers first name is......Martin.... and he's a german hockey hall-of-famer.
Oh I'm sorry, i didn't expected that there is a third Martin Hinterstocker . HockeyDB also listed his stats wrong.
He's back in the DNL and leading the leauge in points. 43 points in 25 games, 26 goals! Good numbers.
Though this time it's not Adam but his smaller brother Ahren. Davos loans him for two games to Hamburg, with an option for the rest of the season, which is likely to be used.
Apparently Capla wanted him before the season began. Should be the best German you could get right now.
Not the offensive defenseman Hamburg needs, but he doesn't count as a foreigner, so there is still hope for that as well. Although Hamburg is already maxing out its budget.
Nittel is a great addition, the best german player on the market.
He just told a newspaper that his brother will follow soon if he stays in Hamburg. It sounded that he's coming as his manager but i would love to see his brother Adam on the ice in Hamburg. Don't mind to scrath Hinterstocker.
Lions beat Augsburg 4 -2 Hell yeah, maybe they haven't packed it in yet
wow, against augsburg, one of the best teams in the league.
why can't the lions stay away from the penalty box? today another game misconduct. first they had injuries, later lots of suspensions. that's really a problem for the team.
Hey, I'm with you on that. .
I used to be a season ticket holder back when the ESC aka Wild Cats aka Scorpions were playing in the Wedemark.
Back then we were cheering for the ECH when our speaker announced they were leading.
I had so much more fun there than now in the arena. The atmosphere was electric, also much better than @ the Pferdeturm imo but they were forced to move so we followed.
Did you know that it takes longer to reach the TuiArena by car AND public transport from the city center of Hannover than it does to reach the old icehouse in the Wedemark.
I still find this highly amusing.
Hopefully we don't look like little pee wee kids again tomorrow night vs. Mannheim!
btw. did you watch the game Dan?!?
Havent' watched the Igolstadt yet. Amy has been sick and has had full control of t.v. Hopefully this weekend, but I've got games tonight ,Friday,Sat and Sun!But soon. Just don't understand why all those others don't Again thanks very very much!

i totally agree. i had the pleasure the watch a few games of my huskies in mellendorf and i was impressed. it was nothing more than a barn with ice, but it was a great experience. and i was in the TUI arena exactly one time and i was bored. i kinda hate all the new arenas and i fear that hockey will die in kassel when the nordhessenarena is ready. but that's the way it is. i just hope that we get a sencond team in kassel that will play in our old eissporthalle so i can watch hockey there.

i don't know much about the pferdeturm, but the few times i've been there and from what i heard, it's the best atmosphere in germany. but that depends on who you ask.

didn't know this, but indeed, that's funny.
that's why for me it's still the wedemark scorpions.

Well, the atmosphere is good but not that special imo. I watch about 10 games a season there because some of my friends are Indians fans.
A lot of Scorpions fans do, I guess the hate is stronger from the other side because we are regarded as the intruders.
For me the games I saw in Schwenningen , Crimmitschau and Mannheim had the best atmosphere.
The TuiArena is too big, it's impossible to get atmosphere in there, so we don't even try any more. I also prefer watching hockey in the old stadiums, I pretty much hate everything about the Scorpions now except the players, that's why I still go and it's not like you could decide 'oh well from now on I'll be an Indians fan'. It's not working.
Isn't your uncle or someone you mentioned a specialist in these things?!?
No, he just has some equipment and doesn't know how to work it Although the one that works is a different type of dvd from all the rest...might have to look up the difference...
