dont treat him like svoboda

id like to see him up. but only if they actually play him. the spare change shifts svoboda gets really arent enough to see what he or anyone else would have to offer. if hes on the 3-4 lines, hes better off in the minors. svoboda has looked lost out there on the 4th line. i think they're hurting his development.

Goal and an assist for Brendl last night.

http://www.theahl.com/SlamScoreboard/ahl-frameset.html

Pretty impressive in my book. Does anyone here actually see him play that can comment on his overall play?

He deserves to be where he is at, IMO. Until he proves otherwise.

He has the talent to score those kinds of numbers, yes. But that doesn't mean he could do it right now, on this team. We can't even buy a goal. I'd like to see Brendl put up 30+ goals in the AHL, first. Which he is on pace to do.

Lowell lost 4-1 today. But guess who scored their only goal.

Pavel Brendl. On the powerplay.

Don't know if you heard or not, but JR on his weekly radio show yesterday said "we will see Brendl here soon." Didn't know whether he'll make the transition, but nothing to lose and he's coming.

This year is a write-off. Let him win the scoring title in the AHL.

In a perfect world, I'd like to see him stay the year in the AHL. But if he does get called up, I'm not going to waste my time pouting over it. Wherever he is playing, I just wish for him to do well.

Agreed. We already have enough to pout over.

I have seen Brendl play, as I am at every home game of the Monsters... He LACKS not SLACKS on the D.... theres are difference if you ask me. Its not that he cant, or hes to lazy by any means.... its that he just doesnt play D! Yes I know its a big issue.. but the kid puts up the points to cover his butt! There are some players that arent going to be able to adapt to the "two way play" And if he can score assist and score... lol well then I wouldnt change him! One player on a team of 23 that doesnt play two way but puts up the points.... Hell I wouldnt bench him!
He is doing really well... NOT taking stupid pens like he was when he first came back from the injury. He is NOT out of shape, still gasps for air a bit, but he plays a TON of mins. He sees the play so well its amazing and his shot....???? MY LORD the kid has a rocket! As much as I hate to say this, him and Kurka are playing VERY well together.. they seem to know where to be and when...
Good Luck to Bfly if he gets the call.... if not I aint complaining, since hes the only one to find the net night after night! (you could turn all the lights out and I swear the kid would find the net)

any type of NHL experience is good for him.
If you mean its a write off for the canes this year, then I would bring up my young talent and let them play on the top two lines.

obviously its too early for the canes to do this but as soon a s they are mathematically out of a playoff, they should do this. screw the AHL its a league for boys.

Also E. Cole has 0 pts in 12 games, time for a call up! Brendl style!!

Rutherford was definitive that Brendl is going to be here soon. That quote was what he said. Of course, we all know he would never bend the truth a little

Lowell lost 3-2 to Portland tonight.

Pavel Brendl registered a powerplay goal and an assist. He also had a game high nine shots.

31GP - 17 goals, 16 assists, 34 PIM, 92 shots

Update ...

As of yesterday, former Canes Assistant Coach Randy Ladoucuer has been brought back by the club to take help out with player development. He's in Lowell right now and his first task is to prep Brendl for the NHL ASAP.

Frankly ... I don't know whether to laugh, cry or applaud. They've needed soebody in this role for approximately forever, and I liked Jeff Daniels to handle this stuff ... but he got waylaid onto the coaching staff in Raleigh. Laddy is a great guy, but he was a plodding, old fashioned stay at home defenseman who showed himself to have little or no communications skills as an NHL assistant ... what exactly he's going to share with prospects is beyond me.

Bendl scored against th bolts last night. but i think he was a minus for the night.
I would like to see him play as many games in the NHL as possible, not too much icetime cause he's still a liability but would put him on the pp as much as possible.

does anyone see him finishing this season in the NHL? (assuming no injury)

or will they bring him back down, when Brind'amour comes back?

That is the first time i've ever heard of a person not recognizing Brendl's amazing skill. What makes you say that, wasting time? I've not had the privledge of following Brendl through his entire career, just the past two years and i've seen nothing that would imply that he didn't have much of a scoring touch. He scored something like 73 goals in 70 games in the WHL with the Calgary Hitmen, it's kind of hard to do that without a scoring touch.

That's quite an oxymoron, don't you think? Without his scoring touch, Berezin was nothing.

Anyway, I think your assessment is completely off base.
