Not to be pushy or step out of bounds but these "on a whim" trade rumors for player X because current player Y "sucks", or had a bad hair day are really getting old - AND - bogging down the access to good material on this site.
To counter this I propose the following "etiquette" re trades.
1. If you make a trade recommendation - please explain the following (in principle)....
a. Does the player fit under the cap this year
b. What is the current situation for the incoming player - dog-house, being pushed by a cheaper guy, not producing, personal issues, etc, etc.. - why does the current team want to trade him.
c. What does this player bring to the B's and where does he fit into the B's systems and why - what's the reasoning for your belief he will contribute.
d. What's the situation with the outgoing player - not just Primeau "sucks" but some analysis please - what is the guy lacking that will be filled by a current or new player - how does it force Lewis to adapt the system and is this a good or bad thing - Ex - we move Primeau and our 4th line will no longer be able to cycle along the boards - therefore giving up odd man rushes against faster teams and losing puck posession in the offensive zone. etc, etc...
e. Why is the trade value proposed considered reasonable - pretty much a synthesis of the above 4 points + some conjecture.
Just a thought and it sure would keep a lot of the current mindless trade banter to a minimum and spark some healthy discussion and debate
