Russian All Stars vs WHL All Stars

Saw a game last nite on TV between a travelling junior team from Russia against a WHL team. Interestingly enough, Tyler Redenbach, Lance Monych, and Randal Gellech were on the WHL All Star team. TR was the 1st line RW (playing with Sjostroms former teamate Ryan Getzlaf). Right off the 1st shift of the game TR walked right in for a shot. Anyhow, that line was dominant all game, especially because of Getzlaf, but TR was blasting away all game and was impressive. Monych was the 2nd line LW and also acquited himself well. Gellech was the 4th line LW and betwewen the 3 of them their names were coming up all game with very good scoring chances. They all seem to have a very good nose for the net and were causing the Russians fits. All in all they were impressive, though they scored no goals. A very nice crop of prospects that'll see Springfield next season.

spoke with a Wheat King season ticket holder recently and he commented on how great Monych has been playing this season.

Redenbach was the player of the game in a 7 - 1 victory played in Brandon.

I'm hoping that some of our players get invited to the national junior camp. They managed to perform very well and hopefully were noticed by the scouts for the national team. Redenbach performed the best of the 3 and it would be a big bonus to play in the WJC. Eager did well when the OHL played the Russians. Any word on our European prospects would be welcome.
