A two goal lead is possible... but there had been borderline plays all night. Your Captain's two hand baseball swing across the chest of Erskine probably being the highlight of those. Enough is enough.

I'm not saying that I completely agree with the need for the Sutherby fight and the excess after, but before that was warranted to send a message. You don't think Vishnevski's going to be looking over in the lockerroom at Sutton and wondering why he got his brains beat in?

The Caps have some hitters too. As far as I'm concerned, if this is what it takes to get the rivalry rev'd up, then so be it.

hmmm, the Kool-Aid you mention, yeah, have some more....does wonders for your objectivity, eh?

Mellanby for an instigator inside of five minutes. That should be the only one.

Brashear should get the same medicine that McSorley received. Get rid of him for the year until further notice. It's warranted. It's the leagues opportunity to treat Brashear like the dirt that he is.
Agree, I mean, does he even play anymore? Except to beat on people at the end of games?

Nice to see that the Thashers get dragged into gooning by the caps and it is our fault. Wow nice to see the team and us fans are thought of so highly.

It may have been his one and only shift.

OTS, AJC is reporting that Hossa and Kovy are 8th and 9th in eastern conference forward voting for the all star game.

Since Sutton is 6'6" any time he hits someone people think it is a high hit. He is the most overrated goon in the NHL, I have no idea why he is such a lightning rod for attention.

No, just a glancing blow, I don't remember on who beacuse it was just a routine knock-em-off-the-puck play - and he missed like you said. Why Hanlon went nuts, I don't know, frustration I guess.

How Vish gets a fignting major for being jumped off the FO & pummeled by Brashear, and Hossa & Devo get 5 minute fighting majors AND game misconducts after being jumped on the same FO, I don't know, reffs just tossing everybody I guess + we were on the road....they should have tossed Hanlon, IMO, surely he will get it from the league.

The Roughing on Sutton was for the very short beating he gave Clymer, since Clymer also got a matching Roughing. So Sutton did get a high sticking call, to be honest I did not see much in that hit at all.

I don't remember that, but it's on the sheet. I saw a replay of the Sutton 'hit' somewhere along the way...I need to get me a wireless laptop so I can be in the same room as the TV. Is that the same Clymer that played for the Preds?

Well, we got the win and had a "team building" exercise at the end. Can't say this team didn't need either.

BTW! Props to our 40 year old CAP for mixing it up at the end & going after Heward because it needed to be done! Mellanby is the man! Heward was barging about quite a lot near the end and deserved getting challenged.

Here is write up from the AJC.

http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sp...thrashers.html

Somewhat interesting that it said Vish didn't fight back during the altercation with Brasher.

Sports South is replaying the game right now...

We are actually in DC and were at the game. All I can say is ***?

It was a free-for-all. There was nobody left at the end.

I've got an idea...for the warm up skate, go behind the Washington area with CHICKEN WINGS. Eat them and hold them up to Das Krapitals. If a few of us do it, they'll know...

Alot of people around the NHL will look at this in the wrong way, but I absolutely love these big brawls. They remind me a lot of the pre-lockout battle of Ontario.

Or the old Detroit-Colorado grudge matches...
