1/4 season evaluation.

As of now, we are a quarter of a season in.
Of the listed candidates, who do you think has been the most impressive?

The first few weeks, Bouchard. But overall, Koivu without a doubt.

Why is Koivu so far ahead of Rolston in the poll (other than it being a prospects board and Koivu is much younger)? Rolston has 12g,7a,19 points and is +4. Koivu is 5,10,15 -3. They both have 3pp goals, so that means Koivu only has 2 regular strength goals in 21 games.

My vote went for Rolston

The reason I would choose Koivu over Rolston is because Koivu has been a key checker while Walz is out, has been key in the shoot outs, and has played well with all types of line mates. That is not to say that Rolston is less important. I just feel that Koivu has been the most impressive thus far, considering he was not all that noticeable last year. We already knew what Rolston could do.

I'd only say Koivu has impressed me the most because I already know what kind of player Rolston can be and he's been doing all along. He's great.

Thank you. Now I get it. The poll was who has impressed you most, not who has been the best player. I should have read more carefully. Now it makes sense to me.

Nobody has done more or been more impressive than Rolston IMO.

Rolston hasn't impressed me because i already knew he could do great things. Koivu impressed me because i didn't expect him to do things he doing now

Rolston's performance isnt a surprise...not that it shouldnt be expected, but it shouldn't be a surprise either.

Mikko Mouse has been a beast out there

I kinda have to give some props to Nick Schultz, I thought his play has picked up considerably since being paired with Johnsson.

This is a very close call for me. I went with Bouchard, because I think that in him we're seeing a player who's finally coming into his full potential right before our very eyes. That's also true of Koivu, but to a somewhat lesser extent. He's in the process of blossoming, but Bouchard is in full bloom right now. By the end of the season, Koivu may very well be right there beside Bouchard as two of our top 3 or 4 players. But right now - in November - I have to say Bouchard has been the most impressive.

I voted for Koivu. We'd be screwed if Rolston wasn't playing great. I expected that Bouchard would have a break-out season. He's got 15 points in 21 games and on track for a 60 pt season which I expected him to do.

Koivu has picked it up a notch. I'm very pleasantly surprised. He's one of our face-off winners in the offensive or defensive zone. He's got game -- there are times when he's taken over a game. We need players who can do that.

I went with Koivu, but I was tempted to throw an other for Schultz. Hard to ignore how Lemaire is using Koivu in any situation. What was the quote the other day from Lemaire? "He's ahead of schedule" or something like that. It'd be interested to hear what Lemaire thinks the "schedule" for him is.

Seems to be a growing number of people with the same conclusion. Without a doubt it has to be Koivu. His confidence is high, or atleast it's showing in his play. Nice to see one of the young guys take a giant leep forward from one year to the next.

I got to go with Rolston. Man, where would we be without him? He's such a clutch performer.
