I'm worried about the Habs conditioning. They haven't been able to maintain high energy levels throughout an entire game yet. There always seems to be a period where they are getting completely outplayed by their opponent, even in wins. If they do that tonight the Sabres will gut them.

However, Huet is on fire right now. He has given up two goals or less in something like his last five starts, while Miller, after a hot start, and then an injury, has started to let in four goals regularily. Sabres have some injuries on defence and upfront which is part of the problem.

This game comes down to "Can Huet stop the Sabres offence?" I say, yes. Habs need this game, they can't afford to go winless to Buffalo all season. They need to beat this team so they might as well start with tonight.

HABS 4 Sabres 2

Habs: Koivu, Latendresse (PP), Samsonov, Perezoghin (into an empty net).

Sabres: Briere, Vanek.

Cardiac Kids are on tonight!!!!

Read into it what you want.

edit: I just realized this is the same screw that officiated the Wednesday game in Minnesota.
Okay, how many diving calls tonight boys?

I say 6. 4 to Buffalo, 2 to Montreal.

edit- Scratch that, Roy is not playing. Make it 4 diving calls, 2 for each team.

Tonight will be a great game - very close game. I feel we're gonna win 4-2 with an empty net goal.

Tonight the third line will be huge. I'm hoping for Perezhogin to bust out and have an Afinagenov-esque game. He seems just on the cusp of something big. A few goals and his confidence will start to rise and then watch out.

Anyways, the Habs will have to play a full 60 minute game and really stay out of the penalty box. I really get the feeling that they are up for this challenge and feel they deserve to be mentioned along with Buffalo as one of the top teams in the East. Big statement game tonight.

4-2 Habs (Perezhogin, Ryder, Johnson, Bonk in the EN)

Go Habs Go

Tough team to beat, let's hope everyone on the Habs shows up for this game and we can hand Buffalo their arses tonight.
What we'll need :
1. Huet- if he's up to recent form
2. D-men - play hard and smart
3. Forwards - forecheck and crash the net
4. Team plays 60 intense minutes not 55 , we'll get burned in those 5 minutes
5. Briere is not allowed to speak with refs.

I'm not sure if you're referring to Briere talking himself out of a penalty or not, but I can assure you that did not happen. I was sitting a few rows up from the P Box and saw it all. It's one thing to call him a diver/whiner, which he does have a bit of that in him, but he did not coerce the official into reversing a call. That's the truth.

I was just looking for any excuse to excuse having lost to the Sabres, it seemed like a widely accepted one
Who cares what the truth is? It feels better to believe the refs cost us that game

Predictions:

1. We'll see a lot of the Perez-Bonk-Johnson line tonight.
2. Miller will frustrate us often.
3. Huet will match his performance and then some, as we're going to get badly outshot.
4. Lats will score one for the Habs
5. Shootout, Habs fail to score and Briere wins it for the Sabres.

Sabres 3-2

All in on Montreal. All of my 244 vCash, and I'm not playing Miller, Vanek, or Briere in my hockey pool tonight.

I called in sick to work to watch the game tonight.

Well, that and the fact I had an allergic reaction from working in produce (pesticides and I do not play nice), so it's nice to actually have a legitimate reason to stay home and watch the Habs.

Miller has not really cooled down, that's a fairly big misconception. Miller may let in 4 goals a game but his save percentage still hovers around .900% in those games. He has really been victimized by shots from the point getting deflected this year. Of the 40 goals he's allowed, I would guess close to 20 of them have just been long point shots through traffic. Part of that is because of Buffalo's defense not really having anyone who can effectively move anyone out of the crease.

Sorry for trolling but, whoa whoa whoa.

Everybody knows the cardiac kids are in Western New York 41 games per year. No offense to Montreal but Buffalo has been the Cardiac kids since last season.

It should be a great game tonight, I'm calling it a one goal diff high scoring game.

6-5 for the Sabres; with the winning goal being scored in the last minute.

Even if i think the Habs won't win this one, it'll be entertaining.

Send a message via MSN to Rise from the Ashes
If the Habs can get Souray an open shot on the PP then they will win.

Why is it that both Breire and Leacvalier look like they wear makeup? Or do they? Plus Daniel looks like a little girl. WE should get him on the Canadian Olympis womans team. Then they would win every game 20-1 instead of 10-1.

WE need some big hits from Komi and Boullion early on their little guys. Last time in Buffalo we went the first 10 minutes without a hit. Rivet was trying but could not catch anyone. We should sit Rivet when we play Buffalo. TOO SLOOOOOWWWW.

My computer crashed this week

Hopefuly the habs win, this team is getting better every game in my opinion. we need to play a full 60 minuts because the sabres are not the wild. they will burry there chances unlike the wild so we have to play a very discipline game. I hope this will be a low scoring game, because the sabres can beat you on the score sheat more than once.
