More TSN Power Rankings Idiocy

I'm sorry everytime I open the link on the TSN page, I should learn...

We lose one game to the Leafs and go from 11th down to 15th in the rankings, while the Leafs hot dog from 12th up to 8th.

I'm going to add that TSN dolt's line about the Leafs 'outlook looking bright' into my signature so I can giggle even more after they implode following this little hot streak.

are the standings as of Monday? then its undestandable, but right now we should be higher than 15th...

Base on the standings and our last few games, we should be top 10...and it's not a hommer comment!

And BTW, those rankings are always do by hommers...RDS have us at 5 while the Leafs are at 10...

We dropped in the standings because Higgins, our most productive scorer, got injured. Leafs went up in the standings because Sundin got injured obviously!

- There's a formula to this.
- I believe the guy who does the rankings is a Habs fan
- Why do we care? We know we're good.

Ironically, Scott Cullen, the guy who does the rankings, is a lifelong Habs fan...

Everybody needs to stop worrying about the TSN power rankings.

With regards to the leafs ranking; I mean, they HAVE won 7 of 8, and I think that if the habs had won 7 of 8 and were ranked 8th then everyone would be on here complaining that we should be ranked even higher.

The leafs have more games then us, their leading goal scorer has more goals then ours, same with assists and points. That is what puts them ahead of us in the power rakings. They are statistically driven. That is also why the habs are always lower then they 'should' be...when was the last time we had someone score 80 points? long before TSN did their power rankings, that's for sure.

The TSN Power rankings are actually the result of a computer program. There's no bias involved. The Habs laid an egg in a game, and deservedly dropped because of it.

The Leafs have been better than the Habs as of late. That IS possible, you know.

Defense won the cup for Carolina? I was under the impression that it was Cam Ward. But if you say it's defense, must be defense... or guys like Stall and Still man having 25+ pts or Brind'amour being solid. Frantisek Kaberle was probably their best D and he isn't exactly a huge name.

No disrespect toward that org. (yeah, right ) but the Leafs have 5 or 6 quality forwards and 2 very good defencemen and that's it. Add in the fact that, odd game aside, the goaltending is between mediocre and awful, and I predict they will come crashing back to earth and probably within the next few weeks.

The players are working their as*ses off right now for Maurice, and winning becasue of it, but eventually the lack of depth on the team has to catch up with them.

You have a point, but we have been playing well despite being ravaged with injuries at a rate few teams can even approach.

Why couldn't we play at least as well once we are healthy?

I can't believe it. This week the Habs are 7th, and the Leafs are SIXTH!!! They are 2-3 in the last 5 games. How is that deserving of 6th?

Wow, seriously some of you need to just sit back and chill about the Leafs. Why do you treat TSNs word like it's the end all/be all?

Seriously, if it's as heavly biased as you all seem to think it is (and I've posted this b4 on the Habs board, I agree that Canadian media, TSN in particular, is biased towards Leafs..), why does it upset you? It is obviously a flawed ranking system. Heck, I pay it no mind and it supports my team.

If you want a relatively unbiased NHL ranking, check this out....
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...gs8/index.html

New one should be out by tomorrow. An American, national publication that pretty much looks objectively at the NHL since they really don't care. Just watch for a NY bias
