Come on Gerber-we need you to rally.
Let's hope that was just a freak occurrence with his skate caught.

Well the one saving grace is that Grahame is playing for Carolina

Gerber looks like he's shaken off that first lucky goal by the 'Canes. Well lucky that somehow he got his skate caught on the post? lol you do just have to laugh

Gerber's made some good saves. His leg got caught in the net on that goal.

So who runs the hits stat in Carolina? Apparently there were 32 hits that period. That's more than most games. I didn't see it.

Great first period from the Sens!

LOL! I laughed too when Carolina scored on Gerber in the first 3 minutes.

I know this is probably going to come off as sarcastic, but its truly not. I love your anouncers...its actually been an enjoyable game to listen to them call.

Excellent first period...Ottawa is throwing the body to slow down Carolina and its definitely working. I think Grahame and Ward switched jerseys though...I'm still waiting for them to show Ward on the bench so I know its in fact Grahame in net.

Uhhh, I'm about to lay a flurry of obscenities at some of you.... did you not see Gerber save two shots before the 3rd went in?
Did you see Schaefer weave back and forth, confusing our defensemen, skate behind the goal line and yet... choose not to take anybody?
Did you see our defensemen sit back and wait for the forward to choose first?

I thought the Sens were very Physical that period. Neil and Fisher may have 10 between the two of them.

I think they were all by McGrattan in the right corner boards in Carolina's end in a span of one shift... or at least 25 of them were.

There was a classic overhead camera shot of that first goal. Spezza skated hard until he got to the center line, then started coasting and made a half-***** swipe to get the puck off a defenseman.

Just pathetic backchecking.

Forgot to mention, great play by Preissing on the Ottawa goal. He does little things like that which no one will really notice.

Do you mean our goalie wasn't in a perfect position on the 3rd shot in a sequence? ... Let's sell him to gypsy's!

Ottawa fans are just looking for any reason to bash Gerber now. That first goal was a funny one off a rebound, but Gerber did make the original stop. At this point that all I expect of him. Just make the intitial save. The team in front of has to have better coverage than on that first goal.

Good period overall by the Sens. Lets hope that it continues into the second. Lord knows the Sens have had big trouble playing second periods for some reason.
