---The annual January letdown as become a Ranger tradition, hasn't it? It's not going to be easy to break this year with the schedule we have. 14 games (All against conference opponents) in 24 nights, 3 back-to-backs and no more than one day off between games during that stretch.

aside from the Flyers and Debbies, the east is mediocre. And, this team seems to have a better concept of playing 'D', while the PK has not been the abortion of the previous years. Plus, the backup goalie has been very good. This is not to say I have full confidence that this team will be any different from previous years. But, I will admit there is a different feel about this team.

I haven't the foggest and I ain't holding my breath either. This group ain't out of the woods yet.
