GDT - Oilers vs. Avalanche

What, no one wanted to think about tonight's game after the stinker against Detroit??

Sure hope Oates plays tonight - as he said in the paper today (Sun?), he's about reached his limit of what he can do in practise, so get out there for 4-5 minutes tonight and at least help out the guys on some faceoffs and PP time...!

I hope he makes his debut tonight, as this is gonna be my 1st Oiler game of the year. I live 2 hours out of Edmonton so I don't get to see many games live. Hope the Oil can pull off a win.

Don't take it personal Rabi. Just think the season ticket holders get to watch that dreadful PP every game at home!!

I say the Oil give up a 3 goal lead to salvage a tie tonight. 4-4

Isbister(2), Dvorak, Ferguson

Oh man, I think our dreadful PK unit will give up two goals tonight. Hopefully Conks can stand on his head, and the Oilers get some lucky breaks.

Oilers win 4-3 (OT) - Dvorak, Smyth, Pisani, Salmelainen (OT goal assist by Oates!!)

Plus Colorado is banged up with Kariya and Forsberg out. Back to back games for them - last night an OT battle. The Oilers have to be itching to get back on track. Maybe Sauve will be between the pipes for Colorado. I'm guessing a bigger "w" than people are saying. Something like 5-1 or 2. Dvorak, York, Moreau, Hemsky, Staios the scorers. None on the PP, thats not really going out on a limb.

You know, the last time I predicted anything they lost...doh! Oh well. Let me just preface this then, by saying that if they do lose I had nothing to do with it.

I actually think they will respond well tonight, however. Not only is Oates coming into the lineup, but Colorado is missing more than its share of regulars (Kariya, Forsberg amongst the notable ones). However, we did lose Brewer. Will Allen be dressing tonight, or is Semenov staying in?

In any case, 3-2 Oilers in OT. Oates sets up Smyth for the winner.

lol, well if Semenov sits and Allen plays then I will seriously get myself kicked out of Rexall tonight because Lowe will be wearing a beverage.

Pumped for the game tonight. THey should be REALLY fired up for tonight what with the loss and Oates being in and all.

GuyF was saying in practise today Oates was playing the wing with horcoff and Laraque. Makes sense for a game or two - let the guy get his feet wet with 4th line duty and #1 PP unit. Even in limited minutes I can assure you he will help emmensely. beside - Horcoff gets thrown out of every draw anyways so Oates will take the majority of them.

Although this is extremely frustrating for me (I'm sure you all share in this is as well)... I think Oates and the organization are making the right moves by bringing him in slowly.

Here's hoping he uses his 7 or 8 minutes to win 60% of his draws and maybe get an assist on our woeful powerplay.

Fingers crossed for a 4-2 win.

Torres, Smyth (PP), York, Pisani
Morris, Blake

Adam freakin OATES!!!

The Oilers D is having trouble adjusting to the puck coming back every faceoff.

Had some good sniffs around the net and looked great on the PP with Hemsky. They seemed to get pretty good room.

Cory is giving me fits again.

Pisani does alot of little things well.

Ty Conklin is a battler.....
