According to the

NYPOST today that the leafs are interested in Peca.

http://www.nypost.com/sports/islanders/43277.htm

Perhaps the only one that can stop this bleeding is Milbury, but to be honest, who would want any of these clowns on ice? The rumor du jour has the Leafs interested in obtaining Peca, who hasn't scored in nine games.

how about Peca, Parrish, and Timmander for Antropov and Harrison or a 2nd

Uhhh.

Sundin, Nieuwendyk, Reichel, Stajan, Antropov, Fitzy. Peca would be nice, but not necessary.

Leafs going for Peca?
Where does Larry Brooks get this stuff

Just a hunch, but I don't see the Leafs trading any more young guys.
If anything they need more young guys.

Right now their most important player is the trainer, who has a hell of a time keeping up with the injuries to all the vets.

that the deal will benefit both teams. With Mogilny out for a while, they get a goal scorer in return although he is streaky, he battles hard every night. Peca we know what he brings, although this team is stacked at center I believe that he would help open up possibilities for toronto to make a deal for another Dman. Timmander is pretty solid, i have no idea why he is in the minors right now.

The islanders get another big guy with potential, who has show glimpses of greatness. I would like to try and get him and Kvasha to play together and maybe they would both stay motivated on a consistent basis. It is a big risk because of injuries to the two main cogs in the deal, but I think it would work. As for Harrison I like him a lot, and I know how you feel about trading Cola(whom i think personally is gonna be a star), but a 2nd would do as well. I think the Isles might overpay a bit, but I think both teams would benefit from this deal.

I don't like it.Isles are overpaying bigtime.
I'd rate Peca's trade value above Antropov's.At worst it's even, if you argue Peca makes $4.2m,limiting the number of teams bidding on him.

so it breaks down to Peca for Antropov and then the isles dealing 26 yr old Parrish, who's scored 24,26,17,30 and 23 goals in his first 5 nhl seasons, for either Harrison or a 2nd?

why isn't there a barfing smilie?

I agree, too much.

Peca and Timander for Antropov and a pick. If I were the Isles, I'd do that.

That sounds kinda fair, but the leafs really have no use for timander

I do not think that the Isles can take anymore risks. Too many of the deals MM has accepted risk on have not turned out well.

Quinn's acquired 2 of his players from Salt Lake City... why not make it 3?

(Technically, Joe Nieuwendyk was acquired by John Ferguson Jr., but I'm sure Quinn had a say.)

Grossman went ape****. Is that the type of journalism Isles fans are used to? I like the way he does things. No tip-toeing around the subject.

Grossman's tone is a nice change from Hahn(Newsday).

Hahn was their best beatwriter, but now he's become a shill for the team, making excuses for the owners/front office.

As a Leafs fan I just love the idea of entering any trade with Mike Millbury. I am sure it would work out great for us. I'd love to see Peca in the blue and white.

lol... Mad Mike's possibly the worst GM in the league.

His latest big trade (for Janne Niinimaa) says it all.

I definitely like the deal from the Leafs POV, but it strikes me as being lopsided and I can't see the Isles doing it.

It's funny how Niinimaa when he was an Oiler was a quality 27 yr old defenseman, but now that he's an islander,he's considered to be a dog

Niinimaa-averages 21.67 mins.1 goal,5 assists +4
Torres-averages 11.52 mins.8 goals,6 assists +4
Izzy-averages 12.53 mins.3 goals,3 assists -1

As a sabres fan, I'd hate that deal. That would make QEW games very interesting...
