NJ vs Dallas

I like the Devils chances tonight because teams usuallly don't feel like playing the day after a holiday. I don't know if Corey will play during the streak or not. I think he's over the groin.

Goal waived off

Morrow scores on his own rebound early in the 1st. Goal under review to see if it was kicked in intentionally. No goal. 0-0 game.

Good save by Brodeur on Guerin before he intercepted the centering pass. This has the makings of a great game so far. I can't believe Don Sweeney is a #3 in Dallas already. He was in the press box last season with the B's.

You do realize that every time the Devils play on Center Ice and its shown on the opponents broadcast network it never fails that the broadcasters invariably point out how NJ rolls 4 lines better then most teams right? I'm happy Rasmussen isn't playing tonight. Our lines aren't even numbered. I notice Turner Stevenson's line has been the one starting games on this road trip.

Marshall isn't the center on that line. He didn't do half bad in his fight tonight. Ice time right now according to Yahoo! shows Bergs with more TOI then Elias fwiw. If he continues to do a good job getting Lehtinen off his game drawing penalties and throwing hits he'll continue to get his ice time. Give Burns some credit when its due for once.

Bruised Knee is the word from Matt Loughlin

Possibly suffered in the hit Langs had with Modano. Not good news and not expected back in this one.

1-0 Stars

Guerin scores on the PP. Paul Martin was in the box for hooking Modano.

Friesen hits the post!!! Guerin with some good backchecking. Brodeur with a couple solid saves late in the 2nd. Back and forth action here. Gionta was able to life Arnott's stick before he could fire one into the left side of the cage.

Guerin's helmet has the damned gumball machine attachment at the bottom protecting his lower jaw. Crazy thing looks almost as goofy as the space helmet Roenick had when he played for Pheonix against the Blues following his broken jaw.

I'm going w/brylin only becasue he tied it up in game four of 2000 SC finals with dallas leading by the same score after two periods.

Great hustle from Gionta and Elias. Devils should score if they can keep this pressure up. I bet Big Bully is ripped tonight since this game is on Metro.

Paul Martin almost had himself the tying goal. He's been a force since watching the Stars score on the PP from the penalty box. Maybe he'll get some redemption tonight. Toss those goat horns to someone else perhaps.

Jesus. This team can't get a single power play right now despite some high sticks missed and Larionov being tripped up.

Finally.

Devils on the PP.
