I like the Devils chances tonight because teams usuallly don't feel like playing the day after a holiday. I don't know if Corey will play during the streak or not. I think he's over the groin.

Series: Stars lead, 44-34-9-0
SCOUTING THE DEVILS
Trend: This is the third game of a four-game trip. The Devils beat Los Angeles and tied Anaheim this week.
Who's hot: D Scott Niedermayer has five points in his last four games and is plus-9 this season.
Who's not: LW Erik Rasmussen is still looking for his first point of the season.
Notable: The Devils beat the Stars four days before Christmas last year in New Jersey in the only meeting between the teams. ... Since Nov. 13, goalie Martin Brodeur is 5-0-0 with a 0.60 goals-against average.
Injury: G Corey Schwab (groin) out.
SCOUTING THE STARS
Trend: The Stars have two more home games before embarking on a four-game road trip.
Who's hot: RW Bill Guerin has three goals and four assists in his last five games.
Who's not: C Niko Kapanen has three points, is minus-4 and has been scratched the last five games.
Notable: The Stars have won three of four, including 3-1 over Minnesota on Wednesday. It was their first road win since Oct. 25. ... The Stars are 1-6 against Eastern Conference teams.
Good save by Brodeur on Guerin before he intercepted the centering pass. This has the makings of a great game so far. I can't believe Don Sweeney is a #3 in Dallas already. He was in the press box last season with the B's.
Burns Should Be Shot, Wtf Is Berglund Doing On The 4th Line And Marshall On The First.
You do realize that every time the Devils play on Center Ice and its shown on the opponents broadcast network it never fails that the broadcasters invariably point out how NJ rolls 4 lines better then most teams right? I'm happy Rasmussen isn't playing tonight. Our lines aren't even numbered. I notice Turner Stevenson's line has been the one starting games on this road trip.
Do you realize Marshall is going to be draging Elias down with him even strenth and that Berglund adn Elias have good chemistry, 4th line doesn't get near as much time as first.
Marshall isn't the center on that line. He didn't do half bad in his fight tonight. Ice time right now according to Yahoo! shows Bergs with more TOI then Elias fwiw. If he continues to do a good job getting Lehtinen off his game drawing penalties and throwing hits he'll continue to get his ice time. Give Burns some credit when its due for once.

Friesen hits the post!!! Guerin with some good backchecking. Brodeur with a couple solid saves late in the 2nd. Back and forth action here. Gionta was able to life Arnott's stick before he could fire one into the left side of the cage.
Guerin's helmet has the damned gumball machine attachment at the bottom protecting his lower jaw. Crazy thing looks almost as goofy as the space helmet Roenick had when he played for Pheonix against the Blues following his broken jaw.
Paul Martin almost had himself the tying goal. He's been a force since watching the Stars score on the PP from the penalty box. Maybe he'll get some redemption tonight. Toss those goat horns to someone else perhaps.
