Jagr shouldn't have shot and I read on one of the blogs, Weinman's or Dellapina's, but Lundqvist is not comfortable entering the shootout cold.

He hasnt been doing well. I dont think it was one of those " I dont wanna shoot " Peter Forsberg type things going on.

In a "normal" game I would have to agree with Renney for not putting Jagr in the top-3, but Jagr played his *** off tonight and definitely deserved a shot.

Jagr has had 2 goals in 10 shootout attempts in his career so far.

Well... it's not that easy to claim Miller is the best in SO, since Lundqvist has the holding record with 23 or 25 straight saves, 0 goals against this season.

And for those who took a shot in this SO, including tonights game:

Nylander - 6 goals in 15 shots .400
Shanahan - 1 goal in 5 shots .200
Prucha - 2 goals in 7 shots .286

At least we picked up 3 points in the last 3 games vs them.

Any update on Straka?

Oh and Cally with a huge 3:40 ice time. He looked decent in limited ice time playing with 2 players with no offensive skill really...heck, Callahan almost assisted on Orr's first NHL goal

I'll agree the refs were in our favor. A few of the calls on Buffalo were very weak, and I was shocked to see the ref call the hook on Betts after Betts dove like an Olympic diver. The Jagr penalty though was weak, but overall the refs favored us and it will pretty obvious IMO.

Mediocre game from Weekes...

We were just lucky our offense was actually better than Buffalo's tonight.

Weekes didn't have an amazing game. Could have been better, but Lundy needed the rest. Gald we got the point, unlucky for the next one.

Why did Lundy need rest? I wanted to face him tonight. I've never heard of a goalie 'needing' rest when he didn't play the 2 previous days and didn't have a game the day after. Every point is important, I think you would have had 2 pts tonight if he had played. I wasn't impressed with the coaching decisions on the rangers end.

I think I know why Lundqvist didn't play the SO. It is because there is a rule that says the goalie who played in OT must play the SO, barring injury.

I'm never impressed by Tom Renney.

No, you can change your goalie. But Lundqvist was cold so thats probably why they didnt use him...I didnt expect Lundqvist to be put in for the shootout anyway. That would be a slap in Weekes face from Renney.

agreed, the way he handles certain players I dont like. He must really hate Pock, hed rather have him sit and not get alot of game action rather than get a week conditioning stint in hartford to get alot more ice time, great one, if kasper can get a conditioning stint, why cant pock, oh wait kasper is a vet. and Callahan 3 mins for a rookie in his first nhl game, other teams put their rookies 6-8 mins with some pp ice time or pk ice time, oh wait hockey is different here, so is rebuilding

Dude, you gotta get some of your facts straight before posting. He gave Pock the option of sitting or going down for the conditioning stint and Pock wanted to stay in NY

Of course he wanted to stay, he has nothing new to learn at the AHL level. But if I was him, id perfer to play, if u sit out for a long period of time, it could work against u cause u might be a little rusty when u play and it might turn into a injury. its always good to keep playing so when u get the ice time u are most likely to not be rusty and stay fresh on the ice

Well even though the Rangers gave up the lead AGAIN and they AGAIN became the team that "played good enough to win" but didn't, they were stopped by the NHL's #1 star of the night in Miller who they still got three past.

This is one of those games that really pisses me off.

I felt like the Rangers lost to the Devils tonight, thank god they dont play the sabres anymore this year cause im finding another level of hatred for them, great team but the Rangers should have put this one away.

The point is in your previous post you implied that Renney did not give him the option of playing in Hartford which is incorrect. You're not him and Pock would rather stay in NY, Renney offered, Pock refused, end of story.

Disappointed.

Another game that the Rangers could've and should've won, but the teams that win are the ones that don't make that one mistake too many.

You could play a good game but sometimes that one mistake does you in.

Thought we had this one.

I freakin' knew we were going to lose this one somehow, I was just surprised that we actually made it through the OT to get to the shootout. And the thing that made it worse was the fact that the power went out in my house right before the start of the 2nd period and stayed off until 12:15 AM. So I had to listen to bits and pieces of the rest of the game in the car waiting for the lights to come back on.

Having not seen any of the last two periods and OT with my own eyes, Wishushen and Maloney on the radio made it sound like Weekes was very good for the most part. Also they pretty much said that Betts took a blatant dive at the end of the 3rd that wasn't called.

I'm just glad the Rangers are done with this team.

We got away with the calls tonight, I guess that makes up for them getting away with the calls against us last time. The NHL refs suck and are inconsistent.
