That was before Denis had a pretty durn good game against Boston.
So his place on the team goes on a game-by-game basis?
I am not a fan of Denis but at least I have been consistent about it..
Anyways... I really didn't think we would get blown out like this (Hey there is still 40 minutes left.. miracles can happen) but I am happy to see Ramo get his first taste of NHL action but not like this. Difficult situation to be thrown in to. Let's hope the team can rally around him in the second and third to hopefully score a few goals and "try" to make a game out of it.
Vinny and Perrin again. St. Louis played extremely well (that self-pass-off-the-wall-falling-down-pass to Boyle was excellent). He was all over the power play.
If only the power play could get some goals we'd be unstoppable. At the risk of getting flamed, I'd be willing to say that it's not as bad as we think (some resulted in a bunch of good chances). The only problem is that Ray Emery is a great goalie—at least against us—and we couldn't get that final shot into the wide open net before the defense could clear our players on a few of the chances. I guess we should have scored, but no one has a 100% powerplay. And we're not the worst, the worst team is, I think, 3/42.
I feel bad for Janik's fall resulting in the Vermette goal. Ramo did a pretty good job though, so that's something.
It wasn't absolutely horrible, we just made some really stupid plays in the first period. I actually thought we might tie it up after that second period. We had excellent chances then. It's unfortunate those other Lecavalier shots didn't go in. One, I think, nailed the post
