Next GM - Don Luce?

Did anyone see the two front office moves made by the Flyers today? Don Luce was named Director of Player Development. According to Macnow and Didinger on WIP this afternoon, they think he may end up being a candidate for the next GM. He came from Buffalo and supposedly has been given a good bit of credit for developing the youngsters on that team. What do you guys think? No history with the Flyers, up and coming, and has had success developing players on the team that is probably best suited for the new NHL. Quiet move that I think could mean a lot to this team in the next couple years.

I don't know a thing about Luce, but if he helped build the Sabres, that's definitely something noteworthy on one resume.

And while I like promoting from within, it can be a negative thing if you're a slave to it. Brining somebody in from the "outside" may not be a bad thing at all.

At 58, I'm not sure how "up and coming" he could be.

Anyone who wants to come from Buffalo to our organization, I welcome them with open arms, I don't care who they are...
