What exactly do you mean by shaved down?

I guess I'm confused why you'd want to shave the foam down. It's not a flat surface like some other foam padding -- for lack of a better word it's "waffled". There are some spots that will touch your head but there are ridges and channels so that the air can circulate around your head. Your plan to shave the foam -- is it to deepen the channels or make the foam more uniform?

I suppose you could if you absolutley needed to. The Mission foam, however, is a High-Density foam, therefore it is very stiff, and would be difficult to shave. I know the foam you are reffering to, and the Mission is different. I personally have and love the Intake. Its by far the most comfortable, and the most protective helmet on the market today.

The foam in the Intake is actually EPP foam, much like bicycle helmets, with the Rubber-foam pads that actually contact your head. While it's possible to shave it, you'd need to unglue the rubber pads to actually get to the foam, and even if you did that, shaving EPP isn't the greatest idea. Since it's sorta like styrofoam, it'll be messy among other issues.

Though if you were able to find a pro-stock Intake like on eBay, some have the traditional vinyl nitrile foam, the yellow foam, in it. And that is shaveable, but it seems pretty thin to begin with on the pro stock Intakes I've seen.
