As a long time Sabres fan I have a lot of respect and admiration for Andreychuk. It was awesome to see him finally raise the cup a couple oif years ago.

Topic should read 12/5, I was momentarily confused.

Very good honor for Andreychuk, his value to this team was so much more than just the on-ice play. My favorite memory (besides the obvious one) was his power play record setting goal against Nabokov, in typical fashion about two feet from the front of the net.

Might as well post the GDT stats here. Graphics won't appear for some reason, but oh well.

It's great that they're honoring captain Dave tonight in front of all his fans, and all i hope is that the guys show some effort, even if they don't win, just play hard.

Question: how many years did Andy play with Buffalo?

They've announced that Denis is getting the nod? Hopefully he can get his confidence back, though it's been great watching Holmqvist win games.

He played 11 seasons with Buffalo 1982-83 to 1992-93, 2000-01. I'm glad that Dave's getting a night in honor of him from Tampa, he's a great guy.

Also, Sabres have a 90% healthy lineup tonight.

Hecht - Briere - Pomniville
Kotalik- Drury - Novotny
Vanek - Roy - Afinogenov
Paille - Gaustad - Mair

Spacek - Campbell
Numminen - Kalinin
Lydman - Paetsch

I loved if anyone can confirm your lineup tonight for me please. Thanks!

Thanks, that's a lot of years playing for one team.

Andreychuk remains second all time in assists and points, first in powerplay goals and third all-time in goals scored by a Sabres player. He is also sixth all-time for games played in a Sabres uniform. A great man.

Are they retiring Andy's 25 or just a small ceremony?

But Tampa was there for an optional skate and Marc Denis will be in net tonight. Luke Richardson will be a healthy scratch, as will be Dmitry Afanasenkov, from what I was able to see.

I walked into the locker room at Nassau Coliseum and every player was sitting at their lockers, even Nikolai Khabibulin, who did not even play that night. I asked Andreychuk if I had walked in on a meeting and he said, "No. We're here for you. Ask anybody any question you want. We are going to be accountable.'' First of all, can you imagine that happening in any other sport? And how about the strength of personality Andreychuk must have had to carry that off.

Affy's season has really taken a downwards spiral, eh?

Yes it has. I was hoping for the best after the playoffs and the offseason talk about Brad and Marty liking to play with him, but it's the same old Affy this year.

Reminder Nick: DO NOT say what those three words. I'm serious. It's not some good luck charm, they are 0-4 when you say it. There's a better chance of them winning if you don't type that phrase.

Thank you. Although I don't think it will have any influence on tonight's game.

Couldn't they have had a night for Andy when we played Philly?

So at what point tonight will I utter the words "Thats enough, I am going home?"

And I am an optimist at heart.

I (as most of you know) am not an optimist. I say by the end of the first period the outcome will be clearly obvious.

Have fun.

He's from Fox Sports Florida, he's usually the 3rd commentator/sideline reporter for the Devil Rays. So basically what Kennedy does for the Lightning. Kennedy must be with the Magic.

Ok.. I hate baseball, so I didn't know. I saw Kennedy in Seattle a few nights ago while skimming the Orlando game.

I was hoping they'd let Andy talk.. not just shower him with gifts. That plaque Feaster gave him was sweet though.
