Saw this over on the NJ thread.

"Trade between N.J. and L.A. on the horizon ???

I watched the game on RDS today (french version of TSN) when the announcer, Yvon Pedneault, mentionned... "N.J wanted to add Matvichuk into they're lineup, but because of the cap situation the Devils have right now, Richard is forced to wait until Lou makes a move. There are 3 Kings scouts in attendance tonight in the swamp and a possible trade between both teams should happen within a couple of days."

Who would you like to see from L.A. ???

Personnally I would love to see Lubomir Visnovsky work the PP (god knows we need help on the point ) with Rafalski.

Any thoughts"

What do we as Kings fans think about this?

eiher way, that trade does NOT happen unless there is a 1st rounder coming along with it.

I imagine the part about "the next few days" is just speculation.

Smaller guys like Lubo tend to age better and are less injury prone. I say we hold on to him. He's easily got 5 more good years left in him, probably more.

I think we could resign him for cheaper then most of you think.

Visnovsky for Rafalski and a pick?

If they need to shed some cap space, they're not going to deal prospects.

why the hell would the kings give up their 1st pick? are they high? unless they are swapping picks, i might go for it. miller, pushkarev and LA's 1st rd pick for niclas begfors and NJs 1st?

I can't see Bergfors or Zajac moved in any deals this early in their careers. Devils don't have anyone ready to step in on the 2nd line as a competent center should Zajac be traded. Zach Parise has shown he's a far better winger then center. Bergfors, the organization is also really high on. NJ has to hold onto their top prospects with all their might when they regularly draft low every season. Paul Martin, I could definately see moved in the right deal though. David Hale, I think will stay a Devil, but perhaps he could be moved.

NJ giving up their first pick? hmm... they do pick very low the past few years. with LA's high first pick and NJ low first maybe its not that bad of a trade. depends who the kings are giving up though.

They already gave there first round pick to San Jose for taking a few bad contracts. Next. Devils players suck. Gomez , Martin , White are the only players I would want and White is not going anywhere with that long contract he just got. So I guess I would only part with Visnovsky for Martin or Gomez because ....Parise and Zajac arnt going anywhere.

Well, if the Devils are looking to get some cap room, one of their higher priced players, like Gomez, is probably the likeliest of candidates.

Course, who goes to Jersey is the real question.

I thought that Gomez was a UFA next year. I wouldn't give up Lubo for an impending free agent unless someone else is in the deal.

Well of course. I was talking in general. That those were the only 2 players I would want from NJ.

Fellow LA fans, would you do this:

To NJ:
Lubomir Visnovsky
Craig Conroy
Lauri Tukonen
Kevin Dallman

To LA:
Paul Martin
Travis Zajac
Brad Lukowich or Richard Matvichuk
A 2nd or 3rd rounder

LA gets a very good mobile, young defenseman, a current and future 2nd line center, a solid defensive left-shooting defenseman that can either be kept with the pending loss of Miller and possible Sopel, or moved at the deadline for another decent pick, and a low mid-round pick.

NJ gets an instant #1 d-man and 2nd line center all for $4.4-4.6 million, a quality but possibly fragile prospect, and a depth puck-moving d-man.

What do you think? Replace Tukonen with Boyle?

sort of off topic...but I've played with Brian Rafalski before. I was in Phx for college in 2001 and Brian Rafalski came out to visit his little brother Harry, and he played on our local team with us. TEAM HOOTERS! It was great!

Take Tukonen out of it and take Lukowich and Matvichuk out of there and it looks good to me.

I would do it.....but I don't think Lou would.....I thought the whole purpose for the trade would be to shed salary for the Devils......In this deal it looks like they add salary.

True - I was under the impression that Matvichuk was making between $2-3 million. It looks like he's making $1.3 million.

Hey maybe Lou might still go for it....try adding Cloutier to the deal somehow though.
