Cats vs. Habs - Nov. 29th, 2003 - QUINTAL IN

The Florida Panthers will travel to Montreal, parkas in hand, and in doing so will look to rain on Jose Theodore's parade. The Habs' netminder will be manning the crease on Saturday night after a much needed rest in Washington, which saw the Habs sprawl to just one game above .500. Theodore will look to lead the team back into .500 territory, but the story is deeper for #60. Tied with Martin Brodeur and Kevin Weekes for first in the shutout category with four, Theodore will be looking to become the 11th goaltender in Montreal history to record his 100th victory. Meanwhile, Stephen Weiss and the rest of the Panthers, who currently sit one point the CH with 21, will have Roberto Luongo back between the pipes. Luongo, too, was given a night off as his backup Steve Shields fell to the Buffalo Sabres on Friday. Read the rest of the pregame report

Key Match-Up

vs.

Two players enjoying breakout seasons, Mike Van Ryn and Sheldon Souray.

Habs Game Thoughts
  • Can Joe Juneau come remotely close to stopping Stephen Weiss, who has eight points in his past five games?
  • Pierre Dagenais, who will be facing his former team, should be in the line-up. What about #25 Chad Kilger, where do you see him?
  • With two tired teams, it should come down to goaltending. Theodore or Luongo?
  • Saku Koivu and Mike Ribeiro continue to rack up the assists, and without Matt Cullen do the Panthers possess any sort of player to shut them down?
  • Only Byron Ritchie, who is currently injured, is under 6 feet for the Panthers. Is tonight the night where Horton and Kozlov really dominate the smaller Habs?

Who to Watch For

I didn't remember that, but even then I wasn't trying to bring down your work.

I was wondering who were those who thought Jl. didn't do a good job.

Sorry Mikey!

Yeah, his dedication is astounishing! His last thread is as good as his first even after a 1/4 of the season. Just the fact that he keeps posting them shows a lot!

You'll get you're chance next year I guess, Mike.

Just read on RDS, Komisarek will play, Markov is out with a ankle contusion, im guessing its not that bad in Markov's case since he finished the game yesterday, guess its better to let him heal it 100%

So does this means Quintal will play on his off side? Anyway if it's true, I'm just glad Komisarek will play again. Hope he gets a bit more than 13 minutes now he got his feet wet.

Lucky you, Komisarek. Komisarek sees Komisarek. :p BTW, you're more than welcome to make the game threads when you can. I just remember there not being one for a game or two, so I put one together.

They dont say who will play on the left, but my money is on Quintal no need to ruin Komisarek by puting him on the left, at least I hope Julien isnt that stupid.

I saw one preseason game against Ottawa in which Komisarek was paired with Hainsey and played the LEFT D while Hainsey played the right. It wasn't pretty, mostly because some of Hainsey's passes were picked off or deflected.
