The Rory Fitzpatrick all-star update...

It's in the Vancouver Province today... he's currently 12th on the list among western conference defensemen, and apparently finds the whole thing funny:

http://www.canada.com/theprovince/ne...0-bb932b3135cb

Fitzpatrick said he's getting a kick out of the campaign since he checked the site after hearing about it a few days ago from friends and family.

"I've been getting e-mails and calls from people back home. Someone said there were signs in Edmonton the other night," Fitzpatrick said. "People put a lot of time into it. You have to give credit to the people who put it all together. They did a great job. It's pretty funny.

"If I'm going to get in, I'm going to need a lot of help, that's for sure."

You realize that if he does get in, 110% will come out and say... another player we let get away.

Remember he has to be in the top two among western conference D-men... the fans only get to vote on starters

From a desire to put someone in the all-star game that represents the journeyman who have to work hard 100% every night, or else find themselves back in the minors in short order.

BTW, the latest news is that the Vancouver Canucks all showed up at practice today with Vote for Rory t-shirts. Not bad for a campaign that started out of HF.

it was said by a few people in the main thread on the NHL board that there were reports out of Vancouver that the players wore "Vote For Rory" shirts in practice today

They were Vote for Pedro shirts but Pedro was crossed out and Rory was written in

Send a message via MSN to CH Wizard
Next year, habs fans should vote for someone like Begin or Higgins...or Niniimaa this year even funnier!!!!!!!!!! HAHA

We should seriously arrange something next year. I've nothing against Rory he's a hardworker but it's still not sure at 100% that he's going to be there.

Morrison: "Yea I think it's pretty cool. He has my full support. I mean I haven't actually physically sat down and voted, still need to do that, but I'm talking morally, He has all my support"

Luongo: "Yea I've got to get back to my room sit down and keep voting. I voted quite a few times earlier and so I got to get back on the computer now. It's cool"

This will probably be the lead story on Sportscenter tommorow with the way it's exploded.

It will not be stopped.

Ha. Luongo is such a nerd.

This is a great story though, it's spreading like crazy. It's cool that the Canucks are supporting the campaign as well.

This rory campaign reminds me of a local raido DJ here in winnipeg named Hal Anderson on power 97 who rallied his troops and got named the 34th greatest canadian. i think he beat out mario lemeuix and gordie howe lol.http://www.cbc.ca/greatest/greatcanadians/
