Kovalev and Satan

I was speaking to one of my suppliers ... Huge hockey fan in Long Island and he mentioned that Kovalev and Satan make the same amount of money, have similar '' upsides and downsides ''

What do you guys think ?

Both players get a breath of fresh air ...

I'm in no way slamming Kovalev, I know he's playing injured etc..etc..

But if you guys want, lets discuss similarities, possibilities !

Let's talk about these guys

Quite a lateral move, no?

Doesn't do much for either team. Would be more like a move just for the sake of making a move.

I think people are way too hung up on Kovalev. He's not playing sensational hockey but he seems to be a little injured right now. Granted he's only on pace for 57 points, which would be one of his lowest career totals, but people expecting a PPG just aren't being realistic. He's going to be flaky, he's going to turn the puck over, and he's going to look like he's not putting in any effort. That's who he is, and that's been his style since he entered the league. I'd like to see him turn it up a bit and produce a bit more, but expecting more than 70 points is overstimating what Kovalev can bring to a team.

Kovalev's been a little better in the playoffs too. I'd rather not make a move just for the sake of making a move or to placate the ignant ones who think Kovalev should be ripping it like Hossa is.

Very similar players, neither are consistent, Satan has an attitude I don't like though.

Satan probably is a bit more consistent though, but Kovalev brings the playoffs edge.

Kovalev at his very best owns Satan at his best, plain and simple... so no, I wouldn't do a Satan for Kovy trade.

Same here

The only reason i would take Satan over Kovy is because of his name.

The fact is that neither is at his best anymore, so I don't see the relevance of your point.

I didn't see where Borat suggested or implied that they be traded for each other.

They can be at their best when they want to.Both players have the reputation of being lazy and to only give their 100 % when they feel like it.

The positive is that as long as Kovy does it in the playoffs , then everything should be alright (even though i would like a more constant effort from him during the regular season )

Big pass. Satan's not in Kovalev's league, in my view.

They're both inconsistent and have questionable attitudes but yeah, Kovalev's best is much better than Satan's best.

Does that mean Kovalev sold his soul to Satan, and Satan then proceeded to give him his hockey powers?

Someone had to say it...

Kovy is much more of a playmaker than Satan who more of a sniper, there are similarities such as both being puck hog and giving good effort 1 out 2 games. But as far as the style of game they bring I think Satan is more a Ryder type player.

Satan has only 1 more year left on his Contract and Kovalev 2.
Kovalev at his best is by far the better player but....I really doubt that Satan sucks the skill out of every player he plays with.
I also doubt he hogs the puck like Kovalev does so maybe he would be a better fit. But I dont think the Isle would do that kind of swap mainly for contract reasons.
