Raptors just dealt JYD,Antonio Davis and Chris Jeffries to Chicago for Jalen Rose,Donyell Marshall and Lonnie Baxter.Since most of us like the raptors i just thought u dudes would like to know.Any Thoughts?
Great so that leaves us with Moiso, Bateer, Baxter and Bosh for the front court. Bosh is the only good one and that overloads us at SF and SG with Carter, Peterson, Marshall, Rose and Murray. There better be another trade coming where get someone to play centre!! :mad:
Think of him of having the intensity of Darcy Tucker, the nice-guy-ness of Curtis Joseph and 'Lets go have some fun' attitude of... well nobody else in pro sports that I can think of.

Jalen Rose will give more of a permiter shooter when we deal Peterson, he can hit the three and will take some weight off Carter like he did off Reggie in Indiana.
Donyelle Marshall can rebound and score.
Bosh will get more time and he should be good to go for the rest of the year.
Baxter, he is only 24 yrs old and he brings energy like the JYD. He would rebound and he likes to get physical.
Peterson+Montross's contract+Bradley's contract for a big guy will happen like Jack Armstrong said.
and Davis is 36 yrs old costing us 12 M.. forget him! and JYD was overpaid for what he does.
Well I follow the Raptors a little bit, not much of a basketball fan and don't know alot about the sport outside the Raptors. Just want to let people know where Im coming from with my comments
Anyway, I really liked both Antonio and JYD, sad to see them go. I hope Grunwald knows what he's doing, we seem to be pretty short on bodies for the front court at the moment. I know next to nothing about the guys coming to the Raptors, Im willing to give them a chance, but again Im sad to see Williams and Davis leave as they were two of my favorite players on the team.
Can anyone here give a real detailed analysis of the guys the Raptors are getting in this trade? Maybe it'll make me feel better about the trade if I hear some good things about them

I agree, Donyelle Marshall is a good player who plays a good energy game and has a good offencive game with a hard nosed work ethic kinda like JYD. The biggest 'if' in this trade is Rose. Will he accept the trade to Toronto with open arms? Or will he mope around and blow the chance him and Vince have of being one of the better duo's in the league. I wouldn't worry too much about the front court. I am sure GG already had some sort of deal in place for a big man centering around Peterson. But back to the Rose debate about will he be a cancer on the team I honestly think he will be a new player once he gets here and starts helping the Raps win some games. Alvin Williams game will come around and with one more weapon on the floor to take the double team away from Vince this could turn out to be his biggest season in the league. Throw Rose in the SF spot and you got a good lineup and some good scoring options off the bench. Picking up another Big body who can play will be a much added bonus. Then the Raps are looking at the best team in years, if all the boys come to play.... and BOSH will only get better.

yeah i saw sports net too haha. Eh... its a decent deal but JYD will be sorely missed on a number of levels. The city loved him, he loved the city... I hope he doesn't stop all his fundraising and community work here. He seemed happy the other day when he said he got a phone call saying he wasn't going anywhere... was a crock on the gm's part! I hope they deal Mo Pete, montross but keep bradley i think he's got a bright future. Did you guys here AD's reaction to the deal? He was shocked... and left the team immediatly. Am I alone in saying that he deserves to be gone? I have lost alot of respect for him...

Feel bad for Alvin he's a great kid but the injuries have really taken their toll on him, just watching him yesterday and he's really having a hard time getting up and down the floor.

Just checked nba.com, apparently the deal won't be announced until tomorrow. I've got no problems with JYD leaving, he was okay but could you really count on him late in games? Davis had been here far too long, it's about time they get his negative attitude out of the locker room. I like Jalen Rose and Donyell Marshall. Perhaps now I'll actually go see a game this year with them as Raptors. Go Sprite Zone, $10.50 tickets.
