Who wins this trade EDM/BUF

Not saying its gonna happen or that it should but just out of my curiosity who would win this trade?

Maxim Afinogenov Age 27
Has 3 year 10 million dollar contract
Cap hit 3.33 million

To Buf

Ales Hemsky Age 23
Has 6 year 24.6 million dollar contract
Cap hit 4.1 million

I'd say Buffalo. Hemsky is going to put up a lot of numbers over the next 6 years with that sweet 4.1 avg. contract.

In terms of play, it's pretty much a wash. Edm loses because Hemsky has a better contract.

And good on Afin for finding his game. He is looking great the year.

Personally Max and Hemsky are both awesome players. They both will be around the 80 or 90 point marks this year and probably the next few. However MAx is a half a million cheaper and has a bit better leadership qualities. If he didn't Ruff would have given the A to Campbell, Hecht or MAir.

I'm biased but I think Buffalo rather easily. Afinogenov is really dominating right now but I can't wait to see how Hemsky looks in another four years.

I think afinogenov is benefiting greatly by being on a team as great offensively as buffalo; that being said, he's currently better than hemsky. I see hemsky being better in the long run, but that's just an assumption. Edmonton wins this trade by a bit, though it will NEVER happen.

Vanek and Hemsky playing together for the foreseeable future would be SICK.

IMO, Buffalo wins that one.

Afinogenov has really come into his own in the new NHL, and at 27 years old has now hit his prime. I love his game and think he is a great player, but IMO there is no way he has equal trade value to Hemsky.
