bla bla bla.. Montreal guys have offered contract too late.. i have already signed with Kazan... bla bla bla
btw I think he's not NHL ready defenceman right now.. Playing in Ak Bars with good partners will help him much more than AHL.
Doubtful, the RSL is a league of primadona without any hits tolerable ... in the AHL he would have developed more IMO with people running at him.

I would agree - for Emelin AHL would actually do some good. He has already skated for several seasons in the Super League, even though with Lada, but still. There will be more competition with Kazan, so he will definitely have a better environment to develop, but still, the smaller ice and a physical game would do well for this young defenseman.

Haven't heard anything like that yet, but that would really surprise me. In my opinion he needs at least another year with Lokomotiv - if he can get the ice time there. He just started to take off there...I think it might be too soon and AHL is not his cup of tea (I don't think he would develop there as well).

I agree that AHL would be better for his development. IMO He didn't developed much this year, so maybe it would be good for him to play in AHL, different league, different style etc. Learn English aswell.

His contract is through the end of next year with HC Vityaz...but as you know that wouldn't stop him from leaving if Toronto gave him an offer and he wanted to come over. I am not sure where that stands, though he remains a promising prospect.

*****ING shirokov didnt come over to Canada

This is what happens to every russian prospect these days, he will get paid more and more every year and will NEVER play for the Vancouver organization again, it royally pisses me off, he's so talented and is NHL-ready now, but the Canuck fans will never get the pleasure of seeing him play

relax mate, he is still very young, shows alot of promise and it could be better for him to be playing top line minutes against men as opposed to 5 minutes on the fourth line in vancouver

Grigorenko Size

Some fans were wondering about Grigorenko's weight/height. Many websites have conflicting data(from 5'11/180 to 5'1/215). Was 5'11/180 his draft weight and now he's closer to ~215lb now? Has he lost any of his bulk after the accident? Thanks

On TV he looks like Briere only with wide shoulders.

I don't think the Habs hold rights to him anymore but I've heard Konstatin Korneev has made huge strides in improving his game this season and had a breakout year. He even played a game in this year's WHC. How much has he improved and does he have the skill or potential to be be a top 4 D in the NHL if he ever decided on doing so?

I think Korneev has always been a pretty solid prospect - he really broke out during the U18 WJC before being drafted after becoming one of the top scorers. It was pretty surprising how low he got drafted. I think he has improved since then too. The move to CSKA has really worked out well for his development and he has definitely become a stronger defenseman - more physical and being able to make faster decision. His skating has always been pretty solid and he has rounded out his game. I always saw him as a bit of a utility dman with some offensive ability, and he doesn't stand out in any particular category. I see him as more of a Khavanov utility type who could play on the top two lines or be the fifth or sixth guy.

I saw on the Russian Prospects site that Vadim Khomitski had signed a one-way deal with the Dallas Stars. Could someone provide a link to the story? I can't find it anywhere except for on the Russian Prospect site.

Thanks
